I like ska, though I find it to be a tad hard to find now, still I really like what Hellcat Records has been putting out.

Ska is quite alive in Mexico City, it is actually one of the biggest underground movements here, the only other musical genre that is really popular in the underground here seems to be Surf. WHich is also supposedly dead.

Woo Ska....Reel Big Fish, Less Thank Jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, MU330, Mustard Plug.

A band I heard on the warped tour who sounded ska but don't know if they are, are the Los Kunk Fu Monkeys.

dude, I grew up a MOD, love SKA!!!!! From early Jamaicaon SKA to British SKA to the newer American SKA it all rocks. SKA's not dead, it's just not mainstream anymore.

Just listening to some Specials right now.

dude, that is crap, SKA has been around since the 60's. Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster, Toots and the Maytals, then in the late 70's to early 90's with The Specials, The Beat, early Madness, The Selecter, Bad Manners (skinhead ska) and nowadays with Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish etc. It may not have been that huge here, but around the world it was huge. The late 70s early 80's in England SKA ruled the airwaves.

Here is a little old time from The Selecter.

Ska is perfect anytime that you are feeling a little down. If I pop in a little big d and the kids table, my day turns right around. Plus, I love operation ivy (ska/punk blend) anyday of the week.

edit: oh, and the (insert genre of music here) is dead phrase is the dumbest phrase ever. It is impossible in this information age with myspace and downloadable music for any genre to be dead.
