Clearly...we lost some very winnable games this year. If Harrington and the receivers were given time to get their timing down we could easily have 9-11 wins already (Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Houston, NYJ, GB). The defense has been there all year long.

No it hasn't. The defense had some major lapses all through the first 5 weeks or so.

Why does this thread pop up weekly? Can we just merge this or close it?

wow, if you ask me this is ridiculous. Last week we're talking about how he sucks and we want him out of here as soon as possible and now hes back to god? Hes good but he is not our starter next year. I still noticed he had happy feet in the first half and part of the 3rd quarter and made some bad throws. Im happy that hes filling in now but he is not our qb.

Giving up 21, 16, 10, 17, 20, 20 points during the 1st 6 weeks when the offense is not moving the ball is pretty darn good IMO. I am not saying there were not laspses, particularly in the secondary. I am also not saying the defense was as good as it is playing right now. However, the defense did keep us in a position to win games despite our offense not playing well at all. If our offense came into the season playing as well as they have during the past 6 weeks there is no reason to think we wouldn't have won those games.

this is a very important concept that we must remind ourselves of every week. The Culpepper experiment was an ill concieved, get rich quick , cheap, FUBAR ,fiasco. Managment now understands that the pep man is a mental wreck, and physically done for, and whatever he was, wouldn've taken a team far anyway. So we must remind ourselves weekly, to never ever again waste a precious season on smoke, mirrors and hype. Yes if only Joey had started.....

just to compare, daunte has had complete 16 game seasons of 98 rating, 96 rating, and 110 rating. Joey has never been over 80.

So this will be his first, what's your point? What makes you think Daunte will ever be good again?
