Time to break out the game doctor.

Either that, or find a local store that resurfaces discs. They usually charge 5 bucks.

Call around to some local game or music stores, you'll find somebody that does it. The machines that they use to resurface discs are WAY better than a game doctor.

Allegedly this is a problem with a few 360's...are your other discs scratched too or is the gears disc extra thick?

What do you mean by extra thick?

If the problem becomes worst I'll check out EB.

it's probably scratched cause you play it all the time  everytime I'm on I see you playing that. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that having your XBox horizontal isn't as good for the game...

The game doctor is horrible....well at least the old one i bought at ebgames.....that sucker was scratching my games worse, despite the amount of fluid i was putting on the games.

If worse came to worse, you could find someone who bought it recently(a friend hopefully), and ask if you could use thier reciept, and then go exchange it for a new one.

Does it matter how my XBox is? I have it standing up. Should it be laying on the ground?

Mine is laying down, but that's only because the space isn't tall enough, otherwise I'd have it and my ps2 standing up.

What do you think is better? I think my disc is being scratched becauses its upright.

At least on my ps2, I never had a problem with scrathced discs when it was upright. It even read some discs better when upright. so I really can't say about the 360.

It always left a dull, scalloped looking finish on discs. But that's how it's supposed to be, it isn't meant to make a nice reflective surface. I never had a problem with scratching a disc worse.

Having it "professionally" resurfaced is DEFINITELY the way to go.

However, if your disc is deeply scratched, there is nothing anybody can do to fix it.

Its not to the point where its unplayable.
