It took a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and urine to get this working... So you're welcome.

Note -- This is NOT illegal. With Sony's latest update to the PSP, they have given users the ability to play Playstation One games on their PSP. The trick is, Sony wants you to re-buy PS1 games from the Playstation store and transfer them to the PSP via the PS3. The steps listed here simply shows gamers how to convert legal purchased copies of PS1 games into eboot files that they can play from a PSP. :hi5:

Step 1
Get your PS1 game in question and convert it to an image file (.iso, .cue/.bin, .img, something). I used Alcohol 120% because it has settings for backing up PS1 games. I can't help you locate software on doing this, it's not hard... google.

Step 2
To convert PS1 games to eboot files, you'll need a PC app called Powerstation. The Powerstation standalone is a pain in the *** to use. So there's a ton of gui's available. This app is free, and so are the gui's. I've set up a download area for you guys to get it.

Packed in here is a .rar file that contains the app, a gui and 2 files called base.pbp and keys.bin. Without getting crazy into what those are, try to understand that they were hell to make.

Run the file called PSX2PSP.exe.

ISO/PBP File: This need to be the path to your PS1 image (in my example I'm using FFIX disc 2).

Output PBP Folder: This is the place you want the game saved.

Everything else is completely optinal if you want custom images, sounds and otherwise.

Click Convert and in 5-10 minutes there'll be a directory (where ever you selected to save the game) with an eboot.pbp file in it.

Step 3
Lastly, we need to copy the directory our game was converted into to the /GAMES directory on our PSP. Done.

That's it. Now just boot your PSP, go to games then Memory stick, and launch your PS1 game.

Questions?

Damn it, since I don't really understand how to downgrade then upgrade to 3.02 OE-B. I read a little tutorial about it on PSPupdates.com but didn't understand it.

yeah, if you had a PS3, you can just download and transfer them... The problem is... The PS3 is $600 and you'd be forced to re-buy your favorite PS1 games (regardless if you already own it).
