He's not really a center.

ZO should make the team as a backup C....

Funny how the west has the best teams but the east is going to beat them down.....

He switches back and forth. But he the best big man in the east.

Not gonna argue that, Howard is a beast.

I agree with Section saying Zo should be a backup though.

You have to take a look at the bench before you make that decision.

well that's fine if you want to say that he's not really a center. But there's no way in hell Shaq should be the starter. Amars is right, it's a popularity contest with some of these guys.

Dirk should have the honor of starting. He's the MVP. Shaq obviously doesn't belong as a starter, but that is what happens when the fans determine starters, which I think is fine.

nash and dirk not starting are crackpipe quality stupidity. You have the guys who are probably 1-2 in the mvp race and theyre not starting. This is the exact reason fans should not be allowed to vote or should only have a partial vote.

Dirk I can see not starting because Garnett and Duncan are so consistently dominant year in and year out. But Nash is the best player in the NBA and for him not to be starting is pure BS.

Honestly speaking, I always vote one time and one time for those who I think deserve it.

My picks were.....

East: Wade, Agent 0, Caron, LBJ, Howard
West: AI, Kobe, KG, Dirk, Camby

I voted thinking that Yao wouldn't play, and I was correct.

I stopped watching te NBA 10 years ago but I still keep up with it a little bit but now I know why I stopped watching...

...the fact that the defending 2 time MVP, who is having probably his best season is NOT voted to start is a total and complete joke.

bullseyeguy

Nash, Amare and Marion will probably all make the team, and they will get plenty of PT with the Suns staff as coaches, but it really is a travesty for Nash to not be a starter. How in the hell are you gonna have two 2s as starters? If the coaches and players had votes on starters, Nash would more than likely be a unanimous selection....

Shaq doesn't deserve to start, but I imagine he'll start in every AS game until he retires b/c that's just the way it is.

I think Nowitzki deserves to start as well. I'm glad Timmy made it for the millionth time, but I don't want him to risk getting hurt. The AS game isn't his type of style. Too much glamour and look-at-me I'm in front of the camera

Not sure if Alonzo would make it, though I really hope so because he's been playing his best ball since before the kidney surgery [which IMO is amazing, especially with age..], but I hope they fit both him and Dwight Howard in, since Dwight deserves it too.

Caron has been playing pretty good as well.

Shaq should not be a starter.

That is obvious. His name got him there. Just like people complain about the NFL Pro Bowl being a Popularity contest. So is the NBAs.

Well, the coaching staff doesnt pick the players the coaches from all NBA teams decide, and you cant vote for your own players...

But yes 3 Suns should make the team, Amare will probly start since Yao will be out...

Steve Nash should be starting over Tracy McGrady.....it's sad when a two time MVP doesn't even get to start, or having Shaq start when he has missed the whole season. Nothing but a popularity contest. :shakeno:
