I don't really have a favorite actor and I won't see a movie just because someone is in it. I do generally enjoy things with Robin Williams in them though, he was great in Jumanji and I guess I've always liked him for that. Something about his voice is pretty neat to.

Top 3 is tough. There are so many good ones.

Hanks ('nuff said)
Cruise (weird yes, but GREAT actor)
Johnny Depp (can you believe his first role was in Nightmare on Elm Street)
Nicholson (GREAT in any movie he plays in)
Gibson (hurt his rep recently, but still a great actor and director)
Russell Crowe (*** in real life, but can play any part)
Christian Bale
Liam Neeson
Phillip Seymoure Hoffman (best character actor out there. He can play ANY part and make you believe it)

The list goes on.

1a. Morgan Freeman

i think both of those guys are vastly underrated and both of those guys make pretty much any movie they are in better.

i am surprised at the respect for Leo DiCaprio... nothing he has ever done has impressed me. but, i havent seen Blood Diamond nor his recent gangster movie yet, maybe those two movies will change my mind.

actually was referring to "The Departed." i thought (perhaps incorrectly) it had a mafia/gangster story to it.

but i had forgotten about Gangs of New York as well, and didn't consider it either whenj commenting on DiCaprio. DiCaprio was very good in that. maybe after seeing The Departed and Blood Diamond i will reconsider him entirely if they are as good as i have heard.

Basketball Diaries when he was young was really good, I liked the Man in the Iron Mask alright too. Recently The Aviator, Gangs of New York (great movie), Catch me if You Can, The Departed and Blood Diamond. He has done a few movies that I can think of that I havent really liked such as the Beach and Titanic is what it is. But his recent stuff I've really liked. And if Scorcese likes him who am I to question his skills :)

sellers?

well.... we are from different generations i guess. i agree there are always greats from different eras. for me, personally, Will Ferrell is IT. Jim Carrey used to be it, until he started doing weird movies and serious movies.

best movie ever IMO was Dumb and Dumber. but then again, i'm obviously not a film student and don't care about cinematography. i just want to laugh.

generations? nah - funny is funny - ever seen the pink panther strikes again? there's a scene where he pretends to be a dentist and he and herbert lom start inhaling the laughing gas... holy **** is that funny - btw - i think will ferrell in anchorman is one of the funniest roles i've ever seen and jim carrey is good as it gets - most comedic actors need a script - that guy was just born funny

i can agree with your analysis of WF and JC.... Anchorman is the single best comedic role ever played, IMO. :)

as far as the sellers bit you speak of, i haven't seen it. but if its funny, i'll laugh. i appreciate all good humor.

ever watch the old Black Adder series? with Rowan Atkinson? great stuff there.... Black Adder III is the best.
