Guys, I bought a 32" LCD HD this weekend. It's a Vizio (forget the model number now) which I was able to get at Costco for a great price. Anyway, I wanted to get feedback from some of you HD "experts" on if you have a similar TV, and what you think of it. I'm having DirecTV come out on February 17 to set up the HD service. I'm pumped up!! :D

Oh man, the 360 is awesome on mine too- like nothhing I've ever experienced. I can't wait to actually get the HD set up. Now, a question for all of you- my TV has a built-in HD tuner. Does this mean I can watch HD right now? I have to have DirecTV come out and give me an HD dish and all- which I want them to do anyway, so I can watch in 1080i, plus I want the HD DVR- but according to what I read, I might be able to get some HD programming with the built-in tuner. Anyone know?

I have a 42 inch plasma i bought a few weeks back...How much is it to upgrade to hd dvr if you are already a directv subscriber? Did you have to do that?

I've been a DirecTV subscriber for 3 years, and they quoted me a price of $199.99, billed out over 3 payments. Originally, they told me it was $299.99. I wouldn't be getting it if it was that much, but since they gave me the special price (I think because I'm a preferred subscriber), I decided to go for it.

Yeah, I got the same deal when I upgraded.

I have a 32" Philips.

It's actually pretty decent.

Just waiting for the parents to get a new TV here soon so I can get theirs in their living room and put this one in my room.

Nope. You will have to subscribe to their HD package UNLESS you have an antenna erected already. With an antenna you will be able to pickup local HD broadcast with your built in antenna.

www.antennaguy.com should be able to show you what stations are in your area and which direction you should point the antenna.

Disregard above link, appears they have changed formats and only address cell phones amplification.

The Aquos is nice but I'll be damned if I didn't have a hard on for those Samsung TVs....They were a BIT too steep for my liking though
