Well, I`ve seen the youngsters posting musical groups etc. that I`ve never even heard of. I`d like to hear some of the ages of the old timers, like myself.

I`m 57 and all things concidered, in pretty good shape. :D

Yeah, your right 06. Hold on......................OK, I just fired the photographer (myself). I'll get a better one of me and all three of my girls in Phin gear. The older ones will get their jerseys this weekend. And you'll probably be seeing us around your neck of the woods very soon. We move to Orange Crest on the 29th.

I haven't seen the back side of 230 lbs. since the guys at Ft Bragg got through with me in basic. Im down to 215 and my goal is 190 these last 25 are coming off real hard. Gonna have to resort to the weights and jogging again.

I`m doing the same thing....Gone from 246 down to 223.....shooting for 215.

I eat just two meals a day now. It`s amazing what that one extra meal does to your weight.

Some tips, if you're interested:
It's actually better to eat 5 or 6 small meals per day. This will help keep your blood sugar levels stable, and keep you from being so hungry also.(Which will help you avoid overeating at any given meal.)If you only eat two meals per day, your body will feed off of fat, but also off of muscle. Merely having muscle, burns calories by raising your metabolic rate. Therefore, when you go for long periods without eating, you are actually lowering your metabolism. You want to eat high-fiber, low-glycemic index foods. I could actually sit here and write what would seem like a book, but I don't have the time right now. I'm currently taking a personal trainer course, and my long term goal is to help overweight people lower their bodyfat percentage through proper diet and exercise.

 Yep...Scrappy that's the key. Eat small amounts often. I mostly do salids and carrots or celerey during the work day.

My greatest problem is I LOVE butterbeans, fieldpeas, and rice. Didn't have to much of a problem backing off the red meat.

Now I'm eating a lot of grilled and baked, fresh fish. Grouper, flounder,Reds and the likes,It's good to have friends that still fish every week.

Don't care much for the "Turd Hawk" chicken though. a good yard bird is ok but the store bought stuff is terrible.

The doctor tried to put me on Lipitor to control cholesteral and I told him to give me a few months and I would get my blood right through diet and exercise...I did.

Mine was 270 a few years back. It stays below 200 now.Fiber, fiber, and more fiber is a good way to lower it. Oatmeal is good also. You should be able to eat field peas and butterbeans, just don't add a bunch of junk to it. As for rice, do you like brown rice?Brown rice would be an okay alternative to white rice if you can stand the taste. I love fish, but my fiancee' can't stand the smell of seafood, and we live together, so I don't eat it as often as I should. Are you getting enough exercise?

I also have high blood pressure.I found out two years ago when I was 28.(Genetics suck)I think that is what made me want to learn about living a healthy lifestyle.

Anyway, best of luck to you on lowering the cholesterol.

 Snappy...I see you are from Hopewell Va., so, you must know that those things that make fieldspeas and butterbeans taste so good have a tendency to do a lot of clogging of the arteries "ham hocks".

I don't indulge as often as I used to but I want turn a plate full down if offered.

As for the brown rice...I like it.

Exercise....probably not as much as I should right now, but I do try to get 15-20 mins. a day three times a week of treadmill walking.

I...like you... am a victim of genetics and old south attitude of "eat everything on your plate" and...a couple of helpings while your at it. This never bothered me weight wise until two years ago and then something changed. I could walk by a plate of food and put on 1-2 lbs.

Anyway I think I'm on top of it right now. Still have exercise disipline in the evenings and NOT snack.

Thanks for sharing your knowlege.
