We need offense early and often in the draft...If Brady is available, take him, if we trade up (dont think it will happen) then take Johnson or Brady or Thomas, If none of these are available at 9 and we cant trade up, then I say we trade down if its possible...

I hear you. We can only wait for FA to start, and for April to arrive, and bring the Draft along... :tantrum:

Im all for drafting the BPA. if thats an offensive player...great. If it's not, well then, you'll have to live with it.

I agree with that, if there is much of a dropoff, if not much of a dropoff then draft the need position, but only if its close...We need offense badly, however we do need defensive youth. But offense early and often IMO.

we have needs on both sides

if we don't get Brady by any means, then Gaines Adams, Okoye, Branch or Jamaal Anderson would be great picks for us

Thats a tough way to draft man. I mean let's look at it like this...

Landry is being compared to Ed Reed. Now I know we dont particularly need a safety right now, and i know defense is not the weak part of our team, but to pass on a guy whose being compared to Ed Reed is pretty hard to do.

Especially for a guy like Levi brown, whom is being spoken off as a good LT possibility, but not going to be the next John Ogden or Walter Jones.

Ginn isn't a big time receiver. He's a PR/KR

I agree with you but i think it is gonna be to hard to trade up so I say if someone falls like quinn then we have to take them otherwise the #9 spot is very dangerous i say we should trade back pick up some more picks in what looks to be a very deep draft.

everytime I read about us taking a defensive lineman I cringe! we have so many glaring needs at other positions. If nothing else, saban drafted defensive lineman! Young guys that are on the roster some have played some haven't but we have enough bodies there! Roth, Vickerson, the 2 Wrights, Evans... that's a lot of beef! YOUNG BEEF! Jason Taylor's not going anywhere. Heck, we even resigned Steve Fifita! Any position just not D-Line!

Absolutey, if Quinn or another real quality player doesnt fall to 9, then of course i would love for us to trade down and pick up some more picks...might be harder to do than trading up though...

I agree with you here, Ginn isnt worhth the 9 pick, maybe later in the 1st but not the 9th.

But there in lies the problem, if we never address our weak positions, then they will always be "OUR WEAK POSITIONS."

How many times I gotta say it...we need offense and we need it yesterday!

and Brian Urlacher played Cornerback in highschool, I bet the draft scouts didnt mention that when they were discussing his draft grade.

He is a PR/KR..

The reason I can not agree with you is because of free agency. Right now we need OL, WR, OLB, and then NT and DB.

With the 49ers the most likely to land Clements and Thomas, the only players that we have available via free agency to pursue are OL and maybe a WR.

So if we do sign say Kris Dielman and a WR...then you can bet your bottom dollar that our 1st day picks will be mostly defense.

Now if we "dont" sign a WR, then we may use our 1st or 2nd round pick on one. But even still our other picks will be on defense.

How many times I gotta say it...we need offense and we need it yesterday!Uhh. Last I checked, JT was thinking about retirement and our defense wasn't getting any younger. Sure I agree that we dont necessarily have to go DT because I believe we should give the young DT's we already have a shot but I do think that if Gaines Adams or Jaamal Anderson where there, we need to take them at #9. Not only that, our corners are disgustingly bad. So if we draft a defensive player, it would be because he was the BPA. We shouldn't reach for an offensive player just because we need offense. Not only that, if CPep returns to form, we will not need Quinn and it would've been a waste of a pick.

hard to pass on the BPA but if it's close MUST stock the offense

Cpep is THIRTY YEARS OLD. How would it be a waste of a pick? Brady Quinn would be brought in to take over in 1-2 years, not immediately. It'd be a waste of a pick if he turns out to be a horrible QB, which he probably will be if hes thrown under the bus immediately!

Jesus, you think people would know by now the basic recipe for success at the QB level

I agree that we need offense but we still cannot ignore the defense. Just as much as some think we need a QB (whom may take a half a season or more to adjust to the NFL), a WR (whom may take a year or two to adjust) or a LT, we also need another playmaker (pass rushing OLB and a ball hawking DB) on defense.

Why do you want TWO possession receivers? We already have enough of those on the team.

I hear you. Our DL is the least of our worries, although a true mean and beefy NT in later rounds wouldn't upset me.
