:dolphins: We need to do whatever it takes to draft a QB especially since we passed on drew brees and now look at what he has become. Exactly i hvae heard it before we have a QB already. well heres the list of the winner QBs we have :culpepper- head case not knee case and saban figured that out thats why he quit because he knew he screwed up
Harrington-Good heart but no accuracy and absolutely missed to many open deep throws last year making chambers look bad
Lemon-look at the name. this guy comes pre named "Lemon" think about that i would not be willing to base the teams future on him. WE NEED A QB IN THE FIRST WITHOUT A DOUBT

MISTAKE?? Im gunna laugh when C-Pep haters shut up... He's going to be a great QB this year

I am not a hater but I do realise he hasn't done much in 2 years yes he could come back and be great and he could just as likely comeback and suck so with that 50/50 chance we got rookie qb as backup to groom if c-pep doesn't work out.

He really showed it last year with his quick reads, blazing speed, excellent arm, accuracy, int-td ratio. lets face it the guy is not smart and he doesnt have randy moss.

oh i almost forgot that the guy is over 30 so if we can get a newer model ill take it

you really don't understand... he had a bad knee coming off ligAMENT SURGURY, DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO COME BACK FROM THAT AND START IN THE VERY NEXT SEASON??

Even if Pepper comes back to Pro Bowl form, we still need to draft a QB for the future. Quinn, anyone??

We're past the point where we can bank on 'Pepper. I hope he comes back and plays very well, and can hold off Quinn for 2-3 years tops. But I'm not about to put all my eggs in the 'Pepper basket anytime soon, nor do I think Mueller and Cam will either.

I would love to see Daunte come back and play at a high level again as well. That would be one less position that we need to worry about. But how do you explain his horrible performance during the 2005 season? You can't chalk that up to his knee.

pep's problems start with his head not his knee. dan marino had cadaver knees and look what he was able to do. its called adapting with making pre snap reads and developing a quick release.

You make it out to be very simple - everyone that isn't willing to gamble a whole season on one player (Daunte) is a "hater". Things aren't that black and white in the real world.

What if culpepper magically becomes smart, young, fast, etc. that would be ideal and i would love to see it but chances are 1:10000000000000 no thanks

I completely agree with you. I am one of the guys who hopes Culpepper can play again as well as he did in 2004. I am even willing to play Harrington or Lemon if Cameron can work his magic on them. But either way, these are only short-term solutions. We need a long-term franchise QB.
I'd love to see Quinn in Miami.

not with the 9th pick we dont. use our high pick on a STARTER at 1 of the many positions this team needs and draft stanton with our 2nd. you guys could really care less if we draft a qb, you wont be happy unless its quinn.

in all honesty i want a play maker. in the top 9 there is three options for us russel, johnson, or quinn those are my picks and i am sticking to em.

I'm not sold on 'Pepper, even if I'm relatively hopeful he can come back and do some great things this year.

Quite frankly, I'm tired of the bad QB play we've had for far too long!! I see Quinn as the answer. I've always liked him, but never thought we'd have a shot. Now that we MIGHT - I can't get the idea out of my head!!!

Like I said before, Rivers on the bench for two seasons worked well in San Diego! Very well!! Same thing could happen w/ Quinn if Pepper wakes up from his injury and plays to old form.

BTW, I doubt Stanton will ultimately be around in the second round. He would be a nice alternative to Quinn, but I like Quinn a lot more.

You know .... cause what we really needed in that draft was another GD defensive back :rolleyes2

Yeah, just ask McGahee. Never knew a painful knee interferes with your thought process.

Regardless of whether we keep C-Pep (which I think we should) and regardless of whether he is the starter for us this coming season (which I also think he should be) we really do need to draft a QB. I'm not a big fan of Quinn right now, but if he does fall to us, I say we take him and groom him. If he's not, we upgrade at OL/WR/DB and see if Stanton falls to us in the 2nd, or Leak or Smith in the third. Regardless of the scenario, having a QB that is actually drafted and groomed by this organization is the absolute best course of action for the future, and it is the first step in getting us out of this pattern of overpaying free agents and losing out on trades for big names.

If we draft Quinn and he does not even see the field, he will have great trade value.

Cleo Lemon isn't going to be a good qb because his last name is "Lemon"?? R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S

it was a joke about the name but i think you get the point. we have been hoping for a franchise QB to fall in to our laps through free agency but the truth of the matter is that teams are not stupid and they tend to hold on to those guys. the last guy that we had that fit the franchise mold was marino and we drafted him. it really isnt taht hard to see is it? if we want one we need to go get it in the draft and if he turns out to be a bust. at least we tried something besides waiting around for marino junior to fall in to our laps.
