Hmm, interesting. Gotta admit, he's not a QB id love to have so think the Bucks are getting a good deal - buy not getting the deal.

Plummer had a very confusing career IMO. I mean I'm still not sure if he was pretty good or really bad.

Yeah, perhaps get a 6th rounder him? I mean they know he is going to get cut, but a 6th ensures they get their man...

Anybody think this is going to hurt the Fins chance at Brady Quinn?

I think he is getting even with his team.

Plummer was terrible. I have no idea what any teams saw in him. He would have been a good backup. I just never saw the hype that some folks did. When was ever really a stand out? He was just one of those guys who everyone was waiting for to become good, but he just never got there.

Plummer's sticking it to the Broncos for demoting him. I wonder if he can unretire and go to the Texans. That'd be ideal. Bucs aren't too interested in Quinn anyways with Simms and Gradowski and they have a lot of other spots to fill. They just need a veteran QB.

Damn, i wounder how this is going to affect the draft now that neither the Texans or the Bucs can't get Plummer.

At first i thought that Plummer was ok but playing in Arizona pretty much made him stink. But as time went on he never really got rid of his bad habits like throwing off of his back foot into tripple coverage. He makes alot of good throws but also makes alot bad throws, i would say he was a little bit better than average QB but never the guy to win the big game. You have to make sure everyone is perfect around him to make sure he's going to be perfect, kind of like Drew Bledoe.

Wow, 5 threads on Jake. The problem with Jake is he just was never that good. He was a pretty good college QB at ASU but he never amounted to much in the pros. He now is being a big baby and getting back at the Broncos for demoting him by refusing a trade. I don't buy his retirement talk.

There's no doubt about that.

One team drafting in front of us confirmed that they are clearly not satisfied with the QB position. They could have been taken off the table in their interest in drafting a QB if the deal went through but now they are right back in the running.

The less free agent QB's that are out there, the worse our chances get, imho.

There's something intriguing yet confusing about this story. I believe it was a day or two before the announcement, I remember reading at KFFL how Jake Plummer's agent said he wants to be traded, start, and that retirement is not an option.

When I saw that, my immediate reaction is... retirement?? Why would Plummer retire (there's a couple teams that he could start for) and why the hell would his agent even mention retirement???

Two days later I believe, Breaking news HOT OFF THE PRESS, Jake Plummer opts to retire than go to Tampa Bay. Like I said... intriguing yet confusing.

lets not over exaggerate too much, only a good backup? Please.

In three seasons with Denver previous to his last he posted QB ratings of:

91, 84, 90

TD/TO ratio over those 3 years: 66/39

Winning pct over the past 4 seasons: .722 (fourth highest in NFL)

I don't even think he was a very good QB, I was also confused cause he could be really tight sometimes and pretty mediocre at other times. But to say he wasn't good enough to be a starter in this league is insane!

Bronco fans are livid they couldn't get anything for "The Snake"

To me, he was always a rich man's Jay Fiedler...

Im not surprised he retired, however I wont be surprised if he comes back to a "better situation".Like say for instance somebody wants to make him a lock to start.
