John Clayton, on NFL Live on ESPN, just reported that he signed an 6 yr 18Mil dollar deal with the Falcons. Looks like we need to look elsewhere for Barnes' replacement..

And once again all the players who Miami is so called "very interested" in signs with another team. It wouldnt surprise me if we only sign 1 player this offseason. All i know is, we better sign Dielman and Porter. Period. Lets get it done before we miss out on them too.

$5 million signing bonus for a FB is rediculous. Glad the Dolphins dropped outta that race.

it seems like every FA that signs is "too overpriced" for miami...maybe we just arent shelling out enough $$$

anybody else getting a sinking feeling in there stomachs yet?

I know its early, but it'd be nice to even be visiting with a big name free agent...not KELLY FRIGGIN WASHINGTON!!!

Way too much money for a FB - especially for a team with a lot of needs.

Already posted. Although the mods moved it to the general NFL section. Not sure why since the reason the guy got $5 million signing bonus is because Miami fought hard to get him.

Would have been great to have him here. Wonder what the Dolphins will do now as far as fullback is concerned.

Fred Beasley??????

Well, MIA opted to not tender Kevin Vickerson but tendered Kyle Eckel. Maybe he is a plan B? Or maybe MIA has someone else they are targeting or even in the 4th round of draft? I dont really know...

Damn. After I heard we were interested in him I started researching his career, and I was actually starting to look forward to us signing a REAL fullback. Pretty sad that we can't even land the best FB in free agency, but Atlanta can. Oh well, after a few years of playing with Bobby the team will turn into complete trash and he'll be on the market again. And 18 million is way too much for a fullback.

Maybe we should work out a trade with San Diego and land Lorenzo Neal. I know Norv Turner wasn't too big on fullbacks while at San Francisco, so maybe it could happen. Hey, I can dream can't I?

Ovie Mughelli would have made a very good Dolphin IMO... and he is definitely a good character guy.

i coached his younger brother as a JV player and watched Ovie play high school football. they attended and played at a very exclusive private school (850 students grade K-12) in Charleston, and they come from a very good family (their dad is an OBGYN).

imagine that guy as a RB playing against private school kids, he looked like Earl Campbell in his prime shakinig off tacklers. needless to say the offense at that time was built around him.

wish we could have him, but glad he is getting paid either way.

You're just making me even more jealous of those Dirty birds. It would have been nice to have another Southern boy on the team.

hey thats great. congrats. let someone else overpay these guys. 18 million for a FULLBACK???? overpaying people never won a super bowl....ask the Colts and Bears...they didnt overpay anyone recently, did they??? well maybe Corey Simon but thats it.

On my way in to work this morning, during the "2 minute drill" on Sirius, they reported that the Fins signed him. Has anyone else out there heard the same? If it is in fact true, that would be a nice pick up. Any new would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Would Justin Griffith be a good option? Atlanta's running attack was pretty good with him blocking. I don't know much about him, other than he is young and big. It will be interesting to see who we land up with. Brian Leonard from Rutgers could be a good one if we don't shore things up through free agency.

Yeah he's pretty good. I liked that run that he had against Tampa this year when he shook some guy right out of his kleets.
