Sony is also supposed to announce some un announced games and services for the PS3.

In a statement issued today, the firm revealed that Harrison's speech, titled "Game 3.0: Developing and Creating for the 3rd Age of Videogames", will include "live demonstrations of previously un-announced services and games for the PS3".
While the unveiling of new game software for the console will obviously be welcomed, the key phrase in that statement may well be "services" - since speculation has been rife in the past week that the company will unveil a major new expansion of its online services in the keynote.
Sony's definition of "Game 3.0" encompasses a wide variety of concepts including user-generated content, community, collaboration and commerce, all of which the firm claims will be demonstrated in the products which Harrison will introduce.

Sony is rumored to be announcing something called PSHome, this will be a cross between using Mii's and Xboxlive. You will have a "Crib" that you can decorate and stuff....that one gaming website Kotakuru or w/e it is had leaked the info.

"Basically, you get to make an avatar for your console (like a Mii) and this avatar has a room. As you play games and accomplish certain tasks, you will receive items with which to adorn the room that are specific to the game (achievements). The kicker is that this is going to be a new requirement for every PS3 game..."

Sounds cool.

Most likely Japan first.

My SuperVisor is at GDC right now. I'm hoping to get up to the point where I get to go to all the big events myself by next year.

The PS3 "crib" achivement thing definitely sounds awesome. Imagine if you can show people your room online and what not.

The NY Times confirms that Sony's answer to Xbox Live (dubbed Playstation Home) is indeed on the way. Details should be unveiled today at the game developer's conference, and the free service should go live this fall. Gaming blog Kotaku broke the news last week and was blacklisted (then subsequently un-blacklisted) by Sony execs. Microsoft, meanwhile, says they've hit the six million gamer mark with their online service, releasing a fact sheet saying that gamers have spent 2.3 billion hours on the network (95 million days of gaming or over 260,000 years).

Fall??? :rolleyes2

wait for the official word i suppose...

Age of Conan

Good to hear the combat system is working as intended. You can string attacks together to make combos (good example would be Street Fighter) where you would hit Left, Right Left, Left, B and perform combo A.

Pure speculation, but this article suggests a June-ish launch for Mass Effect. :hump:
