Breaston couldn't cut it as a #1, or even a consistent #2. He does work well from the slot, and he has great speed and quickness, which shows in the return game. I wouldn't go higher than a 4th, but I see him as more of a 5th-6th rounder in this year's draft.

No 1 will get the situation that hester got...A fast guy is all the ST's of the Bears needed and they got it...If Breaston got a similiar chance he would put up some good numbers as well.

Breaston will get drafted for mainly ST's return with speed...The same reason Hester was drafted.

The Bears ST's is the best in the league and was the best before Hester got there.

You cant teach those juke moves he used!! Its not like he just ran straight and scored?? Please Hester is FAR from a product of the system...

He may have ran a better 40 time at the combine (which I doubt, but it could be the case) . . . but he isn't faster than Devin Hester. And he should be a better receiver because Hester didn't play receiver, he is a DB.

I do think Steve will be a good slot receiver and returner in this league.

Hester played a bunch of positions at the U like RB,WR and CB and mainly at CB.

They sure as heck didnt draft Hester for his coverage ability cause it was subpar.

Thats why there some knock on Breaston and most of the Wolverine players...They turn in good times in but dont seem to be motivated.

Breaston is a ST''s and as well I see him as a ok slot guy and a good return man.

Steve Breaston was a pretty good return man at Michigan, nothing more than that. He was very inconsistent and dissapointing as a receiver in what was a potent Michigan offense. If he goes on Day 1, somebody made a pretty big mistake IMO.

Hester runs a 4.19 Breaston runs a 4.41. Why are we comparing the two?

Hester didnt runa 4.19 knewb....all his 40 times are around 4.5...Breaston has runa 4.14:sidelol: ..no a 4.41 was his lowest time.

I don't know about the 4.19...that was the UM program guide number on him...

At the combine he ran 4.4 and4.41 and at the UM pro day he did run in a 4.37.

If you use the predraft info on both of these guys, then Hester is a clear step up from Breaston. While they are similar (both being return specialists), Hester brings more to the table than Breaston...

However, we have too many holes to simply draft a guy because of what he brings to the STs, despite not having a clear PR yet...

Not worth it in the 2nd, if we are to take a receiver in the 2nd, players like, Anthony Gonzalez from Ohio state, and Craig Davis from LSU that some say could be a better all around prospects them their former higher rated teammates would be better choices.

how about steve breaston in the late second or third round ??? .... he is a good reciever. what ya think?

Why is everyone advocating drafting a WR on the first day when we still have Chambers and Booker? This makes no sense at all.

If you suggest taking Peterson lots of people object and say we have Ronnie Brown we don't need another premeire RB. But everyone is putting WR in their mocks first day and nobody is saying anything.

If we trade Chambers because his salary is huge and he has been a disappointment O.K. Or if we trade Booker to save 3.5 million on the cap free and clear then OK, draft a WR the 1st day. Otherwise we need to improve the secondary and build an offensive line, a great one for a change.

I know wideouts are the sexy picks but we have 7 on our roster now. How about a center, gaurd, or a tackle or two? How about an elite corner prospect?

Why draft a WR who isn't even going to play much.

Chambers....Booker...Hagan....Hakim.....Campbell.....Vick.....Sam

Where is there room? Maybe Hakim and Campbell both get injured and don't make it through camp. Maybe Sam will stink it up in NFL Europe.

Maybe not. Maybe Sam will look great in NFL Europe and maybe Hakim and Campbell stay healthy all year.

What if Vick has learned the position. He had some character issues a couple years ago but the guy is intelligent. He has all the physical tools. He has good hands and adds versatility.

I would like to draft WR this year as well, but Chambers or Booker have to go.
