I ran across this article today, and it featured some eye opening remarks from Charlie Weis regarding BQ. Here's a couple:

"I'm willing to put my name with him because I'm that sure of him," said Weis. "Brady has the ability to lead an organization for over a decade and that's what you want if you're picking that high."

"Contrary to many people's opinions, it's not because I coached him," said Weis. "It's because he had four years of tape to watch on Tommy Brady. He studied and ran every play that Tommy's ever run. What's more, he's had open communication with Tommy for the past two years."

I wouldn't expect anything less from Weis. Romeo Crennel is a friend and he wants to help him as much as possible.

This whole "connection" thing, both the Weis/Crennell one and the Quinn/hometown hero one, are what have me REALLY worried about the Browns. I've been saying it all along that they are our biggest threat BECAUSE of those reasons.

We'll see how it all plays out though. Hopefully it's just Crennell using his Weis connection to have Charlie say stuff to make teams think the Browns will take him and get them trade offers. It's a big conspiracy theory, I know, but it's what I'm hoping because I wanna see Quinn here, not there

ah christ, that fat slob weis needs to put a corndog in his hole and STFU! He is such a load mouth. He has been blabbing about this crap for months. Just shut up, worry about your college team, and move on. Crennel is a horrible head coach and Savage is a twit. My lord! I hope we can draft Quinn, but, this lobbying to play for the browns is rediculous and sends a bit of caution my way regarding Quinn.

EXACTLY!!! This is a big smoke screen...the Broncos took Jay Cutler last year and not once did they interview Cutler or bring his name up....teams usually talk about guys they are not interested in because they don't want
to show their hand.

Why the hell is Weis always being talked about in the NFL. He is in college now and probably will be until he can coach the Giants

A conspiracy theory would be that BQ goes to Miami where the Pope once visited. Further, there are alot of anti-Castro Cubans who are Catholic. :D

I don't agree, I think Savage & Crenell are under alot of pressure from management to win now. They draft Peterson & they have a really good one-two punch this year, a solid back for the futre & the continued development of Frye (& Anderson for that matter).

Its possible they'll pick Quinn, but if they do & they don't win, I think they'll both be fired......

I agree with that... the Browns didn't sign Lewis because they thought he'd take them to the playoffs, they took him to contribute as a runner and mentor a new guy.

Quinn looks like a bust to me. I hope Cleveland takes him. Brady was picked up in the later rounds and from what little I have read there are two or three guys as good that will be available in rouns two and three. The Sporting News says Quinn is like Joey Harrington. That is enough to turn my stomach at the thought of using the nine pick on him.

You actually BELIEVING what the Sporting News draft guide has to say "is enough to turn my stomach".

Dude you have SIX posts so far and in every single one you quote that damn Sporting News guide like this is church and it's the bible. Give it a rest, as I said to your other 5 posts, it's the WORST guide ever printed. :shakeno:

Also, you contradict yourself in all your posts, because on one hand, you say Billicheck isn't a genius, it's all Tom Brady, yet you sit there and bash Quinn, who runs an offense developed by the guy who designed the one that the Patriots run and who was developed by the coach responsible for developing Tom Brady, so I'm not sure I get your logic here? If I understand correctly, Weis and Tom Brady are the REAL masterminds in NE, but Weis teaching Quinn lke he taught Brady, both at the position itself and the pro-style offense, means Quinn is a bust? You are basically looking at "mini-Brady" in Quinn. Same work ethic, same offense, he's run all the same plays and made all the same passes, hell, he even talks to Tom Brady at least once a week during the season, so either bash Tom Brady too or stop bashing Brady Quinn, but STOP going in circles with your posts.

Not to mention Quinn to Harrington comparisons are pretty far off.

Harrington was a guy that couldn't complete 60% of his passes IN COLLEGE and was always afraid to take hits. A lot of GMs at the time actually had Joey as a 2nd/3rd round guy.

Quinn is a guy with very good accuracy who no-one really has anything bad to say about, except that he doesnt have a huge arm.

Tis the season for mis-information!!!!! No intelligent team is going to float any information or story out there to tip their REAL hand on what they are going to do in the first round. Why? Because you increase the odds of another team trading up in front of you to take the guy you want. What you do is ignore him and pretend you're interested in someone else so that some teams feel comfortable that he'll drop past your pick. Even the Raiders aren't tipping their hand, even though they don't have that worry because if they make it seem like they are interested in 3-4 different guys, then they perhaps can get a team to trade with them for that guy versus the #2 or #3 team (which will cost them less). Only believe maybe 5-10% of the garbage that is being floated to the press by teams.
