Many people would like to trade up to take Quinn, because they say that Levi Brown is the kind of guy you expect to be a bust, many others say that we should trade down if Quinn is gone at the 9th, but who guarantees that Quinn will be that franchise QB everyone is expecting to be?, don't get me wrong, I'd love to land Quinn, but this year I've seen many different scenarios for many players which means that there are many mixed reviews for the players.

There are many mixed reviews for basically every player every year. Calvin Johnson is the exception. Some people question Russell's dedication. Some people whether Reggie Bush was big enough. Some people questioned whether or not Vince Young could play QB. Peyton Manning was questioned. Even the best players have question marks about them. There is an exception once in a while but never at the QB position. When is the last time a QB was in the draft and he had no weakness or question about him? Never.

People thinking Levi Brown will be a bust is just peoples wishful thinking about getting another player. Thats it in a nutshell. A bust is someone like ginn who has injury written all over him cus its happening now. Levi Brown doesnt get hurt. He hurts others.

I agree with you on the Brown thing. I don't see anything that makes me think Brown would be a bust and nor do I see anyone saying it. The Ginn thing is tiring. How and where does he have injury written all over him?

Never been hurt during a play.

Look at the angle of the foot. No surprise it's taking that long and frankly if you were to tackle Jerry Rice like that, the result would be the same.

The thing that I keep seeing about Levi Brown is that sometimes he seems to lose focus and take plays off. People that take plays off are usually more likely to be busts. Another reason I see that people don't want him is that #9 is way too high for him. Say the top 8 in the draft, in no particular order, are Russell, Quinn, Peterson, Johnson, Thomas, Adams, Okoye, and Hall. I don't think Brown is the next best player available. Personally, I think Carricker, Branch, and Willis are all better prospects than him. I don't think pick 9 is good value for Levi Brown which makes him overvalued if taken there which makes people put higher expectations on him which makes him more likely to be a bust.

I did not know Ginn had a history of injuries?

As a Michigan fan I know he was always around come November.

Because he is Boomer. Because he is. And the bottom line for me for the team called the Miami Dolphins is not to gamble on this person at this time. Its not the right time for it. You cannot deny that there are ? out there with Ginn in light of his recent workout. At # 9, it is a huge huge risk. The only reason I pick on Ginn is because so many people want him and for the life of me, with this team with its problems right now, why you would want this guy is beyond me. Thats all.

He doesnt have a history of injuries. But he has a serious high ankle sprain that effected his ability to cut in the rain. He has to play in Buffalo, NE, and NY Jets. It sucks for Ginn because he is a good talent, albeit a bit one dimensional. Can he change the face of game in a few seconds? No doubt. But that is not what this team needs at this moment. It needs stability at the QB and OL positions, particulary LT.

Quinn has more detractors and followers than any other player in this draft because he was prepared for NFL level since two seasons ago.
That translates in more eyes over him last year, and more time to criticize him for this season. Worse, with his decision of staying in college, everybody expected than a so talented NFL-ready product would lead his team into a national championship, disappointing with big game losses to Michigan and USC. The final point is that during Sugar Bowl he played one of his worst games, making speculators tag him as a big-game loser.
Also that Sugar Bowl put JaMarcus Russell as the popular big-game winner and probable #1 pick.

Trading up for Quinn should have nothing to do with Levi Brown. You trade up for a guy because you think he can be special (i.e. Jerry Rice, Emmit Smith, Tony Dorsett), not because a Levi Brown may not be.

As for guarantees, there are none. It's all in the courage of your conviction. As I mentioned before, Dallas and SF traded up to get Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith even though a number of teams thought those players were too slow. Neither of those franchises may have been dynasties if they hadn't done that.

There's been a lot of talk about Quinn slipping down to within our reach, and that's encouraging. I hope we get him. But if we don't get Quinn, I hope we don't have to settle for Levi Brown. He may end up being a decent player, but I would rather select someone with more upside if we stay at #9. Get the BPA. I can't stress that enough.

Last time I checked Marino was questioned.

Wow, a LT that may be a fixture for the next ten years and everyone is questioning him ?? For every draftnik that has a question about his focus, etc there are 10 that have him listed as a stalwart LT ??

I don't have a real strong conviction on Brown one way or the other. I don't watch film, but I read a lot and there aren't too many people that are saying hes' going to be a bust...

At any rate, the bottom line for me in the first round is impact this year from whoever it is. The exception might be if it is Quinn, where you really don't want to throw him to the wolves until the OL is better...

Mate, I'm sorry, but "because he is" isn't going to cut it. You don't like him, cool, but you are essentially making up stories about him as your defence for not taking him.

The ONLY ??'s for me over Ginn are the fact that he will miss time getting back to 100%. The fact that he ran a 4.38 at 75% fit should show people just how ridiculously quick he actually is.

And the thing is Blue, that the worst is still to come. Hall has to land on that thing yet and twist it further under his body. How that ankle didn't break is beyond me.

So based on that ******ed logic all we do is trade up, and we have an instant hall of famer on our hands. :sidelol:

Wow, after that one thread you started about the imminent trade with Detroit, I'm actually shocked to see you here posting again! If I had posted that load of manure, I'd have to consider never coming back or registering under a new name. I guess some people have no shame:shakeno:
