There seems to be debate about whether or not this years QB class is up to par with the past couple years...well lets find out where people would rank them with the others...exclude NFL experience and base it on talent/intel/and college experience.

I'm convinced that Brady Quinn has the most potential out of all these players...he has had FAR-superior coaching to everyone on the board throughout his collegiate career. He has the natural skill and ability same as Cutler/Manning but has greater potential because he is the biggest student of the game!

My rankings are as follows:
1- Jay Cutler
2- Brady Quinn
3- Philip Rivers
4- Vince Young
5- Matt Leinart
6- Jamarcus Russell
7- Eli Manning
8- Big Ben
9- Alex Smith
10- Aaron Rodgers

For those who say Quinn doesn't belong at the top of the draft because of a poor QB draft class...he is no Alex Smith people! I whole heartedly disagree! I think he would be among the top4 out of these 10 top QB prospects from the past 4 years for sure!

I had a hard time deciding between Cutler and Quinn as the top guy, but in the end I went with Quinn in the poll. Here's my rankings:

1 - Brady Quinn: I think he is a Tom Brady clone when it comes to smarts and work-ethic, and we all know how good THAT guy is. Plus Quinn is quite the athlete too.
2 - Jay Cutler: I think he is a great leader with terrific skills. Could be ranked #1, just a personal preference here.
3 - Matt Leinert: I don't think he is the God he was made out to be at USC, but I do think he is a smart QB who will do things once he adjusts to the NFL game
4 - Philip Rivers: A lot of questions about him when Brees left, but he had a great season and I only see his skill going up with more experience, although the OBLITERATED coaching staff may hurt him.
5 - Vince Young: While I love the guy to death for winning my Longhorns a national championship, I am not ready to put him atop the QBs. I think he is an amazing talent with his feet, but being that he had a terrible passer rating and completion %, he can't be at the top of the QUARTERBACK list. Once his passing game developes he will move up, but currently he is mid-pack, because this isn't a "top 10 playmakers" list (he;d be #1 if it were), but you also can't deny what he did for that team (that didn't have any real offensive weapons besides him) in his rookie year.
6 - Ben Roethlisberger: While he DID win a Super Bowl, and had a great rookie year, last year was absolutely wretched. You can say it was because of the accident then the appendicitis, but we'll see. If he goes back to the old Ben he would obviously move up, if he doesn't, he stays right here.
7 - Eli Manning: What more is there to say about him? It appears he is very overrated, but at the same time Peyton struggled the first couple of years too. Not to mention the bad team chemistry and all that stuff that is reported out of there, so I guess the jury is still out on this one. He could turn out like his brother, or he could turn out like the guy that was almost taken over his brother, we'll have to see. Right now, he sits at #7.
8 - Alex Smith: VERY overrated coming out, but last season showed a LITTLE grasp of the offense, so I guess there is potential here, but IDK. I wasn't sold on him in his draft, and I'm still not.
9 - Aaron Rodgers: I actually liked him better than Smith coming out, but he appears to have the Tedford QB NFL curse, and reports are that Green Bay isn't very pleased with him, so who knows. He may be higher up but we have never really gotten to see anything from him, so for the time being he sits at #9.
10 - JaMarcus Russell: I think he is way way WAY overhyped and overrated. The best thing people say about him is his arm strength and I'm sorry, but that doesn't make a QB. I don't care if it is "the best arm anybody has EVER seen" (which is said about a guy every couple of years), it STILL doesn't make him a great QB. The guy is lazy, has a poor work ethic, isn't a mental QB, isn't a student of the game, and had a college offense tailored to his arm strength by having a lot of outside deep stuff instead of inside stuff which required more accuracy and reads, which he struggled with. Not to menton his poor machanics, like always throwing off the heel of his back foot etc, and I want nothing to do with this kid.

Agree with me or not, it's MY list and MY opinion, it isn't right or wrong.

Great contribution man, I think this will be interesting as more and more people vote...theres alot of QB's in this bunch that dolphin fans have wanted so bad over the past couple years. I think this is THE year we have the opportunity to finally put to rest the QB position for the future. I would be ecstatic if we were able to land Quinn because I truly think he will be among the top3 of the 10 when it is all said an done.

What I have gathered from the poll results so far:

We certainly made the right call selecting Ronnie Brown at #2 in the 2005 draft...Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers were probably the worst QB class this decade and only Smith has any potential thus far...he had a rough rookie year but could finally show what hes capable of doing this year with some experience under his belt...safe to say though that passing on these 2 guys was a GOOD CALL!

Eli Manning and Jamarcus Russell are quite the opposite but very much the same in that they were HYPED UP HUGE! Eli had his family name alone and Russell had 1 big game...they seem to be the "bust or boom" kind of players (once again...glad we didnt land either!)

Right, purpose being that if all these QB's were to come out in 1 draft...who do we think would be rated the highest/lowest. I thought it would give us a good idea where this years draft class stands with the other BIG names. I'm glad to see Quinn up there...interesting how Russell is almost always in the lower half yet hes considered the #1 QB this year :)

I have to disagree with Young...the man won his team a national championship single handedly...he'd be in the middle of the pack I think.

1) Quinn (honestly). The guy has a chance to join Tom Peyton and Carson as some of the top gunners in the league.
2) Young. I think hes got some fantastic talent, is a natural leader, has a winners mentality and many of the intangibles that alot of people just seem to lack. I think with even a reasonable supporting cast he can thrive, I think much more potential than Vick here, more like Steve McNair/Don. McNabb.
3) Leinart. His physical ability is overwhelming, but I think he has the brains to be an effective and productive starter perhaps just below the A listers.
4) Cutler. Think he gets a little more overrated by people here than he should be, but I think he will be a solid pro.
5) Big Ben. Steller record, quite possibly a product of a Pitt D. He just never seems like hes gonna make the big play needed, even if he does alot of the time. Wierd vibe from him.
6) Rivers. Started out great last season, then went downhill a little. A strong sophmore season could put him much closer to the top, especially with the coaching issues.
7) Eli Manning. All hype, little production. Especially from a guy who whined to get out of SD. Regretting that now Eli?
8) Russell. I think hes overhyped, but has such immense physical tools. I think hes either gonna boom up this list or fall way way off it with time.
9) Alex Smith. Lack of good QBs catapulted him up. Forced to become the Niners rebuilding posterboy, he seems like he could move up this list as long as he can avoid Harrington/Carr inconsistency and lack of heart.
10) Rogers. Never impressed me in the least, and the fact that GB doesnt seem to be impressed with him either, even with Favre on the brink of retirement, could be telling.
