Anthony Gonzalez (WR OSU) and Tony Ugoh (OT Arkansas) are among the Phins picks for the 2nd round in many mock drafts. They may not be there at that point according to PFW. :cooldude:

Prime among them are Ohio State WR Anthony Gonzalez, whom three teams we consulted had graded higher than Ted Ginn Jr. Reverse discrimination was cited by one team as a reason Gonzalez may be unfairly criticized.
“White guys typically get classified as not being able to run, even when they can,” said one veteran evaluator. “Look at Brandon Stokley and Kevin Curtis. I think there’s a tendency to clump him in with that group, but trust me, my grade suggests he belongs in the first round. You know exactly what you are getting with him. He can run every route. And he’s 6-foot — he’s not a midget. There are a lot of good receivers in this draft, and I would not be surprised if teams take Dwayne Jarrett or Steve Smith before him, but we would love to have him.”

Possible late first-round landing spots for Gonzalez include New England, San Diego, Indianapolis and Dallas.

I wouldn't touch Gonzalez till late 2nd round/3rd round.

The good news is that if these guys do go in the 1st, that just means more highly rated players will be falling for our pick at #40.

David Harris .... he would be good pick in the 2nd

Ugoh would be an example of why I don't think I'm just being a workout whore when it comes to my opinion of Joe Staley. If I truly was a workout whore, I'd be all over Tony Ugoh. But bottom line, when push comes to shove, I just don't like how out-of-control Ugoh seems to play, it reminds me a bit of another guy I'm not high on, Jake Long.

David Harris .... he would be good pick in the 2nd

Don't be surprised of the Patriots don't take David Harris in round 1.

Gonzales is so overated, in the bowl game he look very slow and no technique at all.

when you look at the late first, it's hard to judge where certain players will go. I can name quite a few guys that could be first round picks that not many people are talking about; David Harris being one of them.

Ugoh is interesting, Chicago needs to get younger on the OL, but I think they'll go Ben Grubbs (who can start right away at guard).

If Gonzo goes Round 1 it's to Indy, he's the type of player Indy loves, and the type of pick they make.
