momento was cool as he//.....tough movie to figure out though.

Did you ever see a movie called.....i think it was called , Time Frame......the movie screen was split into four sections an you had to watch all four at the same time because they were all interconnected in some way.....It was cool because only one segment at a time would have sound and that was the one you should be watching but you really had to watch what was going on in the other screens to figure out what was happening.....it is one of my favorite movies...

How about "True Romance" with Cristian Slater......That was a cool movie too.

I've owned The Green Mile for over two years. Still haven't watched it. I really need to.

If you liked Memento (which is a PHENOMENAL film), check out a movie called Following. It's by the same guy who wrote and directed Memento. Think of it as his "warm-up" before Memento, as it was made two years earlier. It's only 69 minutes. But it's a very good flick. Leaves you with the same sort of feeling as Memento did.

Oh man there are sooooooooooo many I can't even chose ten. Maybe if you divide it up into types of movies.

All the Back To The Future
All the Rockies
All the Nightmare On Elm Street
All the Die Hard (any thing else with Willis in it for that matter)
Necessary Roughness
Happy Gilmore
Braveheart
Most of Tom Hank's movies
Major Leauge
All the Lethal Weapon movies
Demoliton Man
But there are sooooo many more. I love movies.

Does anyone remember back in the day when they made movies like "Hollywood Hottubs" or "The Bikini Carwash Company"? Almost no plot and all of those topless girls running around. Why don't they make movies like those anymore?

Just looking over this list, I see many of you have great taste in film. Alright!!!

Yeah, I consider myself to be a big movie buff and could talk about movies all day long.

Muck, I havent seen The Following by Christopher Nolan yet, BUT I am going to have to see it sometime soon. All I hear is good things about it.

Someone posted something about True Romance...man, I love that movie. Pretty much anything written by Tarantino is awesome. I cant wait for Kill Bill in October!

Another favorite of mine is The Big Lebowski.

Muck

Wanna hear something?? I didn't really care for True Romance. Maybe because everybody hyped it for so long before I actually saw it. I don't know.

Scrolling through reminded me of a lot of others.

My favorite is The Field of Dreams. It moves me every time I see it.

Others in no particular order

Star Trek First Contact
Star Trek The Wrath of Khan
Dances with Wolves
The Ten Commandments
Battlefield Earth (I liked it, I don't care what the reviews say)
Blazing Saddles (not just the campfire, there were a lot of other scenes)
Cry Freedom
Delicatessen (my visceral side)
Seven

Prime Time
07-15-2003, 12:03 AM
Star Trek IMO suck.

Miamian
07-15-2003, 12:24 AM
Some of them did. The wierd thing is that up until the last one, Nemesis, which is the tenth in the series, the even-numbered ones were better. Consider 2, The Wrath of Khan: classic good vs. evil conflict

4, The Voyage Home: the whole thing with the whales was perhaps silly and definitely politically motivated, but the humor in the movie ("double-dumb-*** on you," etc) makes up for all that.

6 (The Undiscovered Country): Klingons can make episodes.

8 (First Contact): IMO, the best in the series

Now contrast.
1, The Movie: intellectually stimulating, but way too slow

3, The Search for Spock: not enough action, the ending was kind of silly, although the Vulcan version of the vestal virgins were hot.

5, The Final Frontier: the whole premise sucked.

7, Generations: just didn't really develop. IMO, the nexus was done wrong, it should've been more abstract. The battle with the Duras ship was good though.

9, Insurrection: just didn't excite me.

Vanilla Sky, The Others, Primal Fear, American History X, Tears of the Sun, Training Day, Forrest Gump, Sixth Sense, Predator.

These are my favorite movies.. I may have forgotten sum, but to me.. There's only 1 undisputed best movie ever and it is Memento.. An absolute incredibly genius movie made.. The rest are in no specific order but I believe Predator would be my 2nd favorite.. I love movies with twists in 'em.. Movies that make you think and make you want to watch it again cuz you need to understand it is the type of movie that I love watching and cherish greatly when watching a film...

Well...watch them backwards and get it out of the way.:D

Thats one very "diverse" list. - I like House Party 1 and 2, and I would add Bad Boys 2 if you haven't seen it, I recommend it for your taste. I might have added New Jack City to that list. Thats the original, and very first movie in the 90's wave of black urban cinema and a great line-up with a great Afro-American filmaker. All the others pretty much copied it artificially.
