Randy Mueller feels confident in identifying quality left tackles.

Mueller believes the great tackles in the draft are easily identifiable.

''You don't have to spend a lot of time evaluating cornerstone left tackles,'' Mueller said. ``I'm not saying those are Michael Jordan, jump-off-the-charts, but you know it when you see them.''

Will Randy be able to size up potential left tackles to start for us this year?

I dont think that Levi Brown qualifies as a sure thing LT and I think thats what Mueller believes as well.

What he was talking about was the selection of Walter Jones the offensive left tackle for the Seahawks. He selected him with the 6th pick in the draft years ago. I'm not sure it's completely relevant to this year's situation.

That picture is terrifying. Can you imagine seeing that if you were a DB cowering in the secondary?

Thanks, I fixed. Doug Free comes to mind to me as well; read that KC is also very interested in him as I'm sure many others are. Martin from BC could be another that could be strong.

If we don't get Quinn, I'd love to see our top three picks go:
1.Staley/2a.Kolb or Beck/2b. Doug Free that would go a long ways in solving our O-Line

The Dolphins have forgotten what it was like to have a good LT. Its been a long time since Richmond Webb lined up for Miami in the left tackle spot. Of course its been an even longer time since Dwight Stephenson and Jim Langer were our starting Centers to anchor the offensive line.

If that is the way Mueller sees Brwon then I say Mueller has no clue what he is talking about.

Levi got a little lazy for the combine, but dont be a combine fool. When the pads go on, he rules and scouts are no dummies, they see what I see everytime, his punch just knocks people back.

Evey time I see staley, even when making a good block, he is getting moved back. To me, that is not a good sign in the early going. We already have a Joe Staley on our team and his name is Anthony Alabi and he has moved up to 330 lbs. Staley would be asked to do the same and wait his turn. Not a first round grade to me but i know i am in the minority. People keep pushing this guy but he needs to get stronger and put a few more pounds on and get rid of that 4.7/4.8 speed in the 40. 40 times for tackles are not really relevent.

The more I find on Free the more I like him. I'd be very happy getting him at 60 or 71.

I hear that we are fond of Staley.

Brown started for 4 years at left tackle for Penn State and did a very good job against top level competition. Some compare him to CArey but in college carey only played one game at LT when Mckinnie was injured and was a right tackle and guard most of his time in college. IF Brown ran a 4.9 40, we would all be giddy about him although 40 time is not a good indicator of olinemen unless they run close to a six.

How is that Mueller has no clue. He is not a sure fire LT. Even Thomas is not a sure fire LT. Sure Fire LT prospects are guys like D'brick, Pace, Jones, Odgen, Gallery, and McKinney. And even some of them are not Elite LT's. All of those Guys Graded out higher then Brown does this year. And all of them had much better college careers. So please tell me again how is Brown a sure Fire LT. Sure fire LT's do not give up the amount of sacks Brown has and they are dominate in college. Now Brown may develop into a good LT or maybe not. But in no way at all is he considered a sure Fire LT.

Don't be so sure about that. I saw film of him working out in Tom Shaw's strength and conditioning enhancement program before the combine.

And so it goes on, Brown or Staley, Staley or Brown. Know one really knows for sure and thats the beauty of the NFL draft. Someone like Free may end up being better than both.
