Hi Guy's !

IT's my first Time Here ! and i'm glad to be here, with all those Dolphins Fan's. I'm one of those, but from Montreal. I've seen Ricky in the semi-final of the CFL in October. He look's like he was in good shape.

This Morning, in the Newspaper " Journal de Montréal ", Tshimanga Biakabutuka (Former 1st Rounder by the Panthers) said that the Dolphins and the Panthers Working on a deal for this saturday.

He's still in contact with some Members of the Carolina's Organisation.

Tshimanga aloso said that the Panthers are Really HIGH on Patrick Willis, who got a really shot to be draft by the 49ers or the Bills, whose drafting before the Panthers.

In the Others New's, He said, the Browns are 99% Sure, about taking Brady Quinn, with the 3rd Overall Pick.

I Can't Wait until Saturday !

Very interesting, makes sense. Trade down and take Staley and get some extra picks.

Yeah he's a pretty good source, each week he talks about the NFL heartbeat.

Whatever ! With the 14th, we still can draft Okoye or Levi Brown ! If they are Gone, Joe Staley or Leon Hall would be great fit !

But i'm in favor for an Offensive Weapon this year.

NO, Biakabutuka is retired, he's saying that his contacts with Carolina are telling him they are working on a deal with Miami to trade up.

I like the trade down idea but not to draft Staley...No need to draft a RT for now.

What's the offer again? Swapping 1st round picks? I wonder what we would receive in return?

Sorry...I didn't understand the trade rumor....

Perhaps Kris Jenkins is involved in the deal. If his head is on straight, he would be an ideal NT for our defense.

Miami Trades:
(1st) 9th pick value 1350
(7th) 201st pick value 11
Total Value 1361

Carolina Trades:
(1st) 14th pick value 1100
(3rd) 78th pick value 200
(4th) 110th pick value 74

Total pick value 1374

Value Chart

I would be all for it. Specially if we do trade Booker for a 3rd as is being rumored in the other thread.

That would give us 6 1st day picks and 2 4ths as well so 8 picks in the first 110 picks in the draft :)

Joe Staley, Levi Brown (doubtful there), a WR (bah humbug)

More picks for us is a good thing

He just mentioned that the Phins and the Panthers working on a deal. He didn't really said it's a Swap of the 1st rounders, but if the Cat's want the 9th, i really don't think we will give it whithout receive the 14th and maybe a 3rd rounders.

It make sense, beacause then the Panthers could Shop Jenkins for a 3rd Rounder, and not lose pick.

Sorry for my bad english ! I Do my best ! ::wink:

Joe Staley is a Left Tackle compared to most tackle prospects in the draft. He is the 2nd best left tackle by many scouts ahead of brown.

well, based on the draft value chart they use, I would guess either a 3rd and 4th, or 3rd and 5th

Definitely, but Ted Ginn, too. If we slide down and miss out on Ginn, I wonder what the chances of taking John Beck are. The guy is white hot now. Too hot, I wanted him at #40, but I don't think that he will be there. Staley after a trade down would be fine, too.

Well, our 1st (#9) is worth 1,350 points, their 1st (#14) is worth 1,100 points so they would need to make up somewhere around 250 points. Most likely they wouldn't offer their 2nd round pick straight up (#45) because it is worth 450 points. They easiest way I see to make the points match would be we give them our 1st (1,350), and 3rd(235) = 1,585. They give us thier 1st (1,100), 2nd (450) and 5th (29.4) = 1,579.4.
That would give us 1-1st round, 3-2nd round, 0-3rd, 1-4th, 1-5th, 2-6th, 3-7th. It would also meant that we might have an oportunity to use two of those 2nd to move back up into the middle of the 1st round if there were two guys their we wanted. It would be nice to have two first round picks.

According to the NFL.com draft tracker Carrolina has the 83 pick in the 3rd worth 175 points and their 4th is pick 118 worth 58 points.

I agree this has been my opinion for a while now.

I would do it for a 3rd and 5th rounder to be honest.
Their 3rd and 5th are only worth 204 points, that means they would be cheating us out of 46 points, the equivilant of a late 4th round pick. But if we want the extra picks bad enough, than we may go for it.

Squeeze them for their second.
Their 2nd is worth 450 points, that means they would be giving us an extra 200 points, the equivilant of a mid 3rd round pick. I doubt they give up that much.

3 2nd rounders are good as well. 2 2nd rounders i don't think get us to the middle of first round, maybe end of first round. at that point though why do it unless to keep someone from New England.:D :D

Make a lots of sense for Carolina because the Bills at #11 would probably take him, the only thing, it's coming from the "journal de Montreal" wich take away any credibilty, would you believe a rumor from The national enquirer, me neither.

I think I would only trade a fifth or sixth for Biakabatuka. I would not trade down. We need to trade up and with every thing we got and get Brady Quinn! Even if it means trading with Cleveland to move to No.2 slot.

Trade out ninth pick the 2 second round picks and a conditional pick in the 2008 draft. Quinn could start day one and break all of Marino's records.

Plus he is very HOT he would get alot of endorsement deals.

Closest to the value chart, we'd get #14, #83 (3rd) and #118 (4th) for our 9th pick. That would get us Staley, Ginn or Hall at #14. They want Peterson or Willis. Under this scenario, Quinn probably goes to Cleveland, leaving Peterson to be sitting there at #9, of the top guys that Carolina would want. He'd probably be a good accompaniment to Foster for their running game, something that has been missing since they lost Stephens.

The question is with this move, can we still get one of the second level QBs at #40 (Stanton, Edwards, Kolb or Beck) ?? If Oakland takes Russell, Detroit and Atlanta and KC would all be looking for someone before we pick (KC at #23). Now likely we could get one of those guys, but it may not be the #1 choice of Cam's.

Doesn't the article say that the Panthers would be trading up for Willis? Haha. Is there another Willis I don't know about?

Also, Branch will surely go to the 49ers or Rams and Okoye dropping is even more rare.

By trading down to 14 we'd put ourselves in Ginn/Staley range.

Joe Staley is a Left Tackle compared to most tackle prospects in the draft. He is the 2nd best left tackle by many scouts ahead of brown.

here is the difference between Joe Staley and Levi Brown

Browns opponents go nowheres or backwards most of the time.

Staleys drive him backwards cus his staying power is not there (yet). Even when Staley makes a good block, if you watch it, he is going backwards. That shows his lack of punch power and his light *** at LT. What scouts are banking on is that Staley, with his smarts and size that he can grow more into over time, will take that weakness out of the equation.

But make no mistake about it. Most scouts know that Levi Brown is better because of his long arms, punch, power, size and (yes CK) athleticism for a LT that size.

Many scouts like who? I would love for scouts to come out in the open and delcare Staley is better. You wouldnt see it cus they would be putting their reputations on the line. I wouldnt bet against a Penn State 4 year left tackle with that power over the long haul in the NFL.
