Chris Mortenson and Tim Shea both report on ESPN radio that a rumor is that Chicago flops spots and trade Briggs to Washington, then Chicago turns around and trades its newly aquired #6 to Miami in an attempt to get Quinn.

...if already posted....then sorry, just heard it on radio this a.m.

It's that time of the year where all of the talking heads come up with what sounds like wild theories in order to a) fill airtime and b) cover their bases. I think it's way out of the question to pull off what amounts to a 3-way trade, but stranger things have happened.

The only problem with all this is that's it's becoming very apparent now that Quinn will NOT get past Cleveland at #3. I'd hoped he might, but the Browns are now very obviously passing on Adrian Peterson, according to several insiders.

The feeling with Mortenson and Shea was that the top 4 teams are looking to get thier QB at the top of the 2nd round which would let Quinn drop.

Yup.... Quinn is gone at 2 or 3. If you want that kid (which I do) trade with Detroit.

so we trade back to Chicago at 31st and then trade back up with chicago?

Washington gets the 9th pick and Briggs (seems alot)

What the hell do we get and give up for the 6th pick?

Not what I heard. Word has it all over the Phil Savage wants Adrian Peterson at no.3. He is going to be an impact player and instant star right away. The Browns ownership will not give a QB 50 million guaranteed money for being the no.3 overall pick in the draft. Quinn would want about the same money Russel is getting. People do not realize that teams do not want to take a QB in the top 5 of a draft unless they are cant miss players. Quinn had a horrible Sugar Bowl throwing for 2 interceptions and only 148 yards. He choked under pressure has never been able to win big games. Shaves his entire body (wierd) and may have smoked weed in college. Besides the last player that proclaimed he wanted to play in Cleveland because he grew up there was Bernie Kosar and we all know how that turned out. Cleveland will pass on Quinn they will take AP or may take Joe Thomas.

Quinn will be a DOLPHIN! In fact start pre-ordering those Satin white Brady Quinn no.10 jerseys on NFL.COM BABY.

WHEN WE DRAFT BRADY I AM GOING TO GO RUN AROUND NAKED IN MY NIEGHBORHOOD YELLING SUPERBOWL SUPERBOWL SUPERBOWL!!!!

Ok this is what they said
1) Johnson - Oak (hopes to get a QB in R2)
2) Russel - Det (may trade with TB)
3) Thomas - Cle needs OL help
4) Gaines - TB - might trade to #2

that leaves only #7 Minnesota to possible take Quinn.....

but thats what these two Yahoo's are saying

This popped up yesterday as a possibility.
It could happen, but if Quinn is not there at #6, then I doubt the trade with Miami goes thru.

The feeling with Mortenson and Shea was that the top 4 teams are looking to get thier QB at the top of the 2nd round which would let Quinn drop.

That would be quite the draft if the Raiders took Johnson, the Lions took Thomas and the Browns took Peterson. All with the thoughts of taking a QB in the second. I would love to see that.

no, what they said was Washington and Chicago flip flop 1st round picks and Washington gets Briggs, then Chicago (now at #6) trades with Miami (including other picks) so Miami can get Quinn before Minnesota does.

We need to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get BRADY QUINN. Mr Huzinga get on the phone with Mueller and Cam and you let them know that if they want to have a job on MONDAY! They Must draft BRADY QUINN at No.6 trade whatever get me BRADY Quinn in front of my TV wearing a Dolphins hat and a No.1 Dolphins Jersey Saturday afternoon! NO BUTTS.

I want TRENT GREEN TODAY before 5PM EST. His equipment is allready at Dolphins Camp I want his toushy here TODAY for a press conference TODAY before 5 PM.

Trent Green (no.11 jersey) needs to start at Washington Week 1 with Brady Quinn on the sideline with a headset LEARNING.

Daunte Culpepper needs to pack up and go. We got a plane ticket ready for him one way to Oakland. Raiders take C.Johnson No.1 overall trade Randy Moss to Packers.

That's a solid move on our part, but only if Quinn falls past Cleveland. I've been hearing rumors that the Browns are stuck right now between selecting Quinn / Thomas. They've also taken Peterson out of consideration now....

My hope is that Thomas is there, and they decide to take him over Quinn. I doubt they would, but you never know. Personally, I'd be stuck too. Those are two very talented players to choose from. Tough decision for Cleveland...

Reposting my thread
Probabilty of finding a succesfull QB - Starter with winning seasons.
All after the merger data ofcourse
Top 10 - 60 %
1st round - 40%
2nd round - 10%
3rd and Below - low 1 and below % success rate.

so trust me every GM knows their is a huge difference to taking a QB in top 10 with a 60% success rate to taking a 2nd rounder and risk betting on a 10% chance.

but thats what these two Yahoo's are saying

But then there was this on PFT yesterday:

VIKES DON'T WANT QUINN?

If quarterback Brady Quinn gets past the Browns at No. 3, he could end up sliding all the way to No. 9, to the Dolphins. Though many believe that he'd be taken by the Vikings at No. 7, word is that the Vikings don't want him.

Last year, Minnesota traded up in round two in order to get Tarvaris Jackson, and it's too early to give up on him.

With that said, we're hearing that the Vikes would consider bumping Jackson to the curb if JaMarcus Russell could be reeled in.

Again, everything is in Cleveland's hands now. Ownership wants Peterson (or perhaps Thomas?) so they can be assured of getting the most guaranteed upside for the pick. Coaching staff wants Quinn, who may or may not be a superstar at the pro level.

To the other poster who suggested that - with Oakland taking Johnson, Detroit staying pat to draft Thomas and Cleveland taking Peterson - both QBs could fall.. the word is that the Browns brain trust ALL agree that if Jamarcus Russell where there, they would take him.

Seriously the Dolphins actually hold the key to all of this. If Mueller works a trade with Oakland sends Daunte Culpepper a proven NFL Player who is just about back from injury for lets say a conditional 2010 7th round pick!

Then the LA RAIDERS (CUE NFL RAIDERS MUSIC) could select the most exciting player in the NFL DRAFT MR.ELECTRICITY CALVIN MY BIG JOHNSON!

The lions can take JOE THOMAS or GAINS ADAMS! Then the Browns could take RUSSEL or PETERSON or JOE THOMAS. IF they wanted a QB they would be silly to pass on Russel. Leaving the gates open for BRADY join the DOLPHINS after the big CHI/WAS/MIA Trade at NO.6. FROM MY MOUTH TO SABAN's EAR. ( I MEAN CAM).

ITS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN MONDAY ROLLS AROUND. FINS WILL HAVE TRENT GREEN SIGNED, BRADY QUINN AND MICHAEL BUSH DRAFTED AND DAUNTE CULPEPPER WILL BE JUST A BAD MEMORY. GONE WITH THE SABAN TRASH!

Bryan from Ohio,

It'll be ok. One way or the other, we'll get a player that will help this team. Set yourself up with a 6 pack of Valium and watch the draft with the rest of us Finfaithful. Thanks,
