RUMORS FLY OF QUINN TO RAIDERS
There are rumors right now in media circles that the Raiders are closing in on a deal with (drum roll, please) Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, who would then be named the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network tipped us off to the rumor. Mark Maske of the Washington Post acknowledges the rumor in a Friday afternoon chat, but he says he's not reporting that the deal is done.
We heard earlier in the week that the Raiders had made an initial offer to Quinn. We have since heard that, while hard numbers were not presented to Quinn's agent, Tom Condon, there was enough discussion about parameters and terms to give him a sufficient idea as to the ballpark amount of the deal.

Buh Bye Brady Quinn, it was real nice thinking you would be a FIN.

Leave it to Al Davis to screw up an entire draft. He is waffling all over, you've got to love that old senile fruit. Its got to be hard to make a decision with a diaper on.

I hate the Raiders. Just sign someone and get it over with...

All I know is before we pick in the second round two teams will snag another twoQB's. Hopefully Baltimore does not snag Beck or Staton. In my opinion Detroit will take Staton or Beck. The Vikings will not snag another QB in the second round. We will have a choice of Kolb, Edwards and maybe one of who ever Detroit does not snag. We will take a QB with the second pick of the second round. I also hope we trade down with Carolina.

Its all smoke screens guys, they are all playing mind games with one another right now. Russell will be a raider.

Why do you guys not want to believe Quinn can become a Raider. I personally really like Quinn, but if the Raiders have figured out Quinn is better then Russell which I think he is maybe Ol' Al Davis is not so senial.

if the Raiders take Quinn it's because they got him at a huge discount

If the Raiders don't take Calvin Johnson they are making a mistake.

What reason does Oakland have for giving out smoke screens? They have the number one pick in the draft!

I would be surprised if they took Quinn #1 but I would not be surprised to see a swap of picks between them and Cleveland, then Cleveland takes Russel at #1 and Oakland takes Quinn at #3.

Or even a possible scenario like with Manning and Rivers, where Oakland drafts Russel, then trades him to Cleveland for their pick and some more, then they draft Rivers.

they offered Quinn a pretty low salary for a number 1 pick trying to use his desire to be number 1 against him.

They just described Raiders owner Al Davis on ESPN "NFL Live" as ... mercurial.

According to Merriam-Webster:

mercurial : characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood <a mercurial temper

That's Al Davis. We won't know what he's going to do until the last few seconds of their time on the clock probably. Prepare to be surprised. Never know what might happen. He might be flipping coins and drawing straws in his office for all we know.

C'mon, did you "really" think that Quinn would drop to #9? Please.

Ginn Jr or Brown were the ONLY realistic #9 picks for us.
