My Thoughts
Pokemon is still an absolute MONSTER after all these years.
Nintendo completely dominates everything else this month.
Guitar Hero 2 and God of War II show great legs and continue to sell well.
Xbox 360 Elite didn't make a dent in sales.
Movie tie-in games, no matter how bad, sell anyway. No surprise.
PS3 is on life support. Sony must cut the price now.

The PS3 sold 83K in a month. Worldwide. Wow.

Sony had better try something desperate, like a $100 price drop and a free game with every PS3. MS needs a price cut too, but I think they'll wait to see if Halo 3 and GTA4 move consoles at $400.

Wait, are these numbers just for NA? Still bad, but not as bad. :D

Nintendo is going to keep winning for a couple more years. By then I would think with all the exclusives the 360 has will overthrow Nintendo.

I honestly think Sony isnt going to do much. Even with FF and MG I don't think thats enough fire power. In any case MG wont be coming out in 07. SOny better get its act together.

Sony is fine, they don't have to do anything. Neither does MS. It's still way early.

I'm not sure how accurate this is though.

My question is how in the world is the Gamecube still moving units when they haven't had any worthwhile games in like 2 or 3 years and I don't think are still putting out games, weird.

VGchartz gets mocked at the couple of "serious" gaming forums I frequent. They guesstimate their numbers based on what they think a console sold at any given time. It's not completely useless, but it is inaccurate.

FF, MG, SOCOM, God of War 3, GT5. Then add the multi platform titles and I think Sony is going to do just fine down the road. Like others have said though, their immediate sales success depends heavily on a price drop. There just isnt the games out there right now to warrant such a high priced console.

I think that they are on the right track with things like PSHome, but they do need to get their acts together and make sure that each one of those games I mentioned turns out great. I think that will have a big impact on their success in the coming years.
