05-28-2007, 11:48 AM
He's been missing for a long time now, it doesn't look good.

05-28-2007, 11:53 AM
Man that sucks. how do you just fall off a jet ski and die? Must have been a horrific crash....

05-28-2007, 11:56 AM
Doesn't look promising. If he went in last night, wasn't wearing a life jacket and it's Lake Pontchartrain.............. I fear it's the worst.

05-28-2007, 11:57 AM
That's an awful thing to happen. I pray that he's alright.

05-28-2007, 11:57 AM
Thoughts and prayers to his family!

05-28-2007, 12:00 PM
you can't swim, yet you're too cool for life jackets...

since 9 pm last night.that cant be good

05-28-2007, 12:17 PM
you can't swim, yet you're too cool for life jackets...

just because he may have drown doesnt mean he couldnt swim

05-28-2007, 12:27 PM
If you're not careful on those jetskis you can either slam your face into it or fall off and have the jetski slam into your arm or leg or something. You can't swim too well if that happens. It looks like he wasn't wearing a life preserver. He should have at least worn a light one. Like my grandfather always told me .... you should respect mother nature all the time. Never know what can happen out there on the water ... he could have hit a sandbar or a floating log, etc. I hope he's just lost in the woods or something after he swam to shore.

05-28-2007, 12:30 PM

espn is reporting it now also.

05-28-2007, 02:15 PM
Off topic and unnecessary

If this is all you can add to such a horrible story, keep it to yourself....A man is probably dead, while celebrating Memorial day weekend, I would think a little bit of class and respect isn't too much to ask....

05-28-2007, 03:02 PM

How horrible.

I really hope they find him alive.

05-28-2007, 04:00 PM
Body has just been found. Prayers and sympathies to Hill's family. What they're going through now is awful.

Memo to the rest of us: Whenever you're out in open water, always wear a life jacket and a homing device.

Usually I relish anything bad happening to the Patriots..but this is MUCH bigger than that. God bless the survivors of this young man...God bless Marquise Hill

05-28-2007, 06:00 PM
Yes, very sad indeed. At least they have some closure. I feared that his body would not be found. The Lake does connect to the Gulf of Mexico and it has some strong currents. My condolences....

Well said my friend. I was very sad when I heard about it. No one deserves to die especially over some seemingly meaningless football game when it comes to real life. I am still sad by the way and I am sure these feelings will not leave me anytime soon.

In today's Boston Herald, it said that Hill saved the woman's life he was water skiing with, then drown trying to save himself afterwards. Just terrible news. This guy spent more time in his native New Orleans helping Katrina victims than anyone. Humanity lost a good man this weekend. RIP Marquise.

I wish to thank those of you who have sent and posted kind and well meant messages following this tragedy. Sad that there will always be a few that have no class. Thanks to your Mods for handling it so well.

Awful tragedy. What an amazing way to go. Saving the life of another...the ultimate sacrifice. Sounds like a really extraordinary young man.

About $16,000 worth of belongings was reported stolen from the home of the late Marquise Hill's mother while she was at the funeral for her son, a New England Patriots lineman who drowned last week, police said Wednesday.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/06/05/bc.fbn.hill.funeral.ap/index.html?cnn=yes
