I just got my 360, hooked everything up, then tried to turn it on. I just keep getting this red ring around the power button. I know about the 3 red lights of death or whatever, but this is all four of them... I browsed through the manual but didn't see anything. Please help!

Edit: Seems the AV cables were loose. :smackhead Please feel free to delete this.

Lucky you, I went to Best Buy today to get my new laptop and an XBox360... Needless to say, got it all run up, about 2 grand I was about to spend, well I found out that my debit card won't let me spend over 500 in one day. So I figured I'd go to Wal Mart to get the XBox360, so I don't waste gas... Well freakin' Wal Mart had NO Premium systems... And the kid I had with me had to get to work so I ran out of time to look. I guess I'll go buy it tonight unless something else comes up... God hates me.

congrats dude. i recommend getting the extended warranty asap, if possible. the scare you had is just a precursor of whats going to come, they all die. which is why i no longer use mine.

Hey just a bit of advice for you, and anyone else with a 360. DO NOT SET THE 360 UP IN A VERTICAL POSITION. PUT IT HORIZONTAL ONLY. Having it in the vertical position on any surface that is not COMPLETLEY level will cause disc scratching issues.

Not true...just don't put in a disc while it's one way and then flip it to the other way while the disc is still running.

Mine is vertical and always has been without any issues.

EVERY 360 system has a one year warranty. You might think about getting another year added by sending in your registration card and the money for the extra warranty time. Or just assume that if anything goes wrong, it WILL happen in the first 12 months. Which is true 90% of the time.

I bought my system in Dec 05, and it has worked fine.
