The American bald eagle marked a four-decade fight for survival Thursday as the government declared the bird - a national symbol - no longer requires the protection of the federal Endangered Species Act.

I saw one out in front of my brother's house last year. Quite an impressive animal.

Hopefully jackass hunters won't think it's ok to kill them now.

Its easy to see why it was chosen as one of our symbols. Beautiful bird that also looks badass.
