I'm thinking of buying a refurb, is it safe? I'm not your typical "gamer," I play 90% of sports games. My bro had his PS2 refurbed and that was 3 years ago. How bout Xboxes?

Thanks.

Regular Xbox or 360?

If the price is right and there's a return policy, I see no problems with a refurb.

Yup, no way would I buy a refurbished 360 unless there was a return policy if it turned out to be banned.

...ask them to demonstrate the system at the store before purchasing.

...ask them to demonstrate the system at the store before purchasing.Only way to do that is to connect XBL, meaning they have to plug it into a high speed Internet connection and actually try and connect to live with a user account. I doubt many stores will actually do that.

Sometimes refurbs are almost brand new and sometimes they're pieces of ****. It's a roll of the dice man
