The Virginian-Pilot reports today that federal authorities discovered a total of 17 dog carcasses (http://content.hamptonroads.com/story.cfm?story=128038&ran=14921&tref=de) in two searches of a property owned by Falcons quarterback Michael Vick (http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/tag/MichaelVick/). That includes seven dogs found the first time the property was searched, on June 7, and 10 dogs found yesterday.

No matter how you look at it, this DOES NOT look good for VICK!

Vick SHOULD definitely know what is taking place on HIS PROPERTY!!

How many of you here on this forum would know if 17 dead dogs were buried on YOUR property. :goof:

Vick has some questions to answer for sure! :err:

what i can not believe is all those dead dogs are on his land, but he will not have to face any charges. if it were you or I with the same land, we would be looking for a bail bondsman and a lawyer right now.

Still his property. Whatever happens on his property he is responsible for, am I wrong?

wtf? so if i ran an illegal mexican smuggling outfit in my apartment, my landlord should be responsible because they own the property?

vick bought it for someone else to live there, im sure many athletes do that for friends, family, whoever... i dont think they all go check in every day to make sure no illegal activity is going on there

There's no point in playing the what if game. Do you run an illegal smuggling outfit in your apartment?

I doubt it.

This Vick story is real. It's what is going on as we speak. Stick to reality man

the point is the landlord or owner of a property shouldn't be responsible for what the tenant does... my hypothetical was just an example, and it pertains to this situation, who cares if its a what if? should the landlord/owner of a property be responsible if a tenant breaks the law? yes or no?

VICK HANDLERS USED TO BRAG ABOUT "SECLUDED" PROPERTY

A source with knowledge of certain statements made in the past by members of Mike Vick's entourage tells us that Vick's handlers used to brag that the Falcons quarterback would never get in any trouble at bars or other places where NFL players find trouble (and/or vice-versa) because Vick spends most of his time in the offseason at a secluded property in rural Virginia where, among other things, he "mess[es] around with his 50 pit bulls."

Unless Vick owned another secluded property in rural Virginia, this information further contradicts Vick's "I never go there" claim, which was made on the heels of the disclosure in late April that more than 50 dogs had been removed from his Surry County home.

Actually I know that if you rent out your property, and say the tenants are making meth or something, you can be partially at fault for housing them. Even if you didn't know. I will have to find a link, but me and my dad went in a on a property a few years back, and our realtor informed us of that.

Point is, Vick knew what was up. I hope they bring him down.

if vick knew what was up, yes then he should be punished...

but its all speculation and rumors so far that tie vick into any of it...

and i dont know about that law... if i was selling drugs out of my apartment and got busted, i would seriously hope my landlord wouldn't get arrested... that would be the dumbest law ever... and we have some dumb laws in this country...

even if vick knew what was going on, its amazing how no one cares about the people who were actually running the ****, they just want to see vick burn... that makes zero sense to me...

i hope the people who are truly responsible for what happened over there get in deep trouble, not mike vick cause his name is on the deed... be serious

It's Vick's property for a reason. When you own property, you are responsible for what happens on it. If you buy a place and rent it out to a cousin, you are responsible for what happens there, otherwise don't rent it to said cousin.

What's your take on Vick anyway? Punishment?

He knew what was going on there. No doubt in my mind.

There was a report on ESPN that said an informant stated that not only was Vick aware of what was going on, but he was a major player in the dogfighting, betting big money on the dog fights. He is a pile of trash that is cruel to animals. His endorsement days are gone, guaranteed. Nobody is going to want him for a spokesman again.

Plus, if he truly bought the house for someone else to live there, and he never went there, why would he even bother still having the house in his name? Why wouldn't he have just bought the house and put it under the other guy's name?

The dog lover in me says, "I hope Vick goes down HARD for this." The football lover in me says, "I hope Vick goes down HARD for this."

We will probably see a conviction and some jail time for Vick. No doubt we will also see a pretty stiff penalty from the league.

I'd be willing to bet that Vick doesn't play this season.

He didn't know that there was dogfighting there just like Bonds didn't know what the clear and cream substances he was using were... 1) he is a liscensed dog breeder for a reason, why didn't anyone ask him what kind of dogs he breeds? (I don't think it's Chocolate labs)and 2) he has been called out by a couple different sources (the one guy said his dog fought one of Mike's when he was still in school at VT)

Be serious how? I buy land, I allow people to stay on said land, I am responsible for what happens on said land, because no matter who I let live there it is my land. I don't understand your point?
I don't think its a matter of seeing vick burn, but he should bear some responsibility.

Well Arsenal is on Vick's side and I don't think anything you can say will change his mind.

I dunno how you can side with Vick on this but in the end all that matters is what the judicial system/Roger Goodell decide

but its all speculation and rumors so far that tie vick into any of it..

Consider what we know then.
We know that Vick is a licensed breeder/seller of pit bulls. That much is common knowledge. No secrets there.
We know that the feds are reporting that they have evidence that a big time dog fighting operation was based out of the home Vick owns in Surrey County.
We know that one of Vick's cousins has/had been living there.
One thing that I know is that dog breeders are very passionate about the breed of dog they breed. I've known a few over the years, and that's been my experience.
Is it really that hard to connect the dots?

should or is? 2 different things. because if you ran an "illegal mexican smuggling outfit" in your apt. then your landlord would absolutely be partially responsible in the eyes of the law. should he be? maybe not. would he be? absolutely. go talk to any landlord who has had someone selling drugs out of their properties.

they should tie vick to that rape stand wearing a suit made of t-bones.
or better yet have him fight one of his dogs. that way when he loses they can douse him in water and electrocute him just like they did to those dogs.
lets see him scramble out of that one!

This is absolutely disgusting. I hope the other individuals involved throw him to the wolves in exchange for a lighter punishement. Vick was definetly involved and should be punished accordingly. This is a horrific act that he was well aware of and allowed. Please don't defend this man becasue he is a sick person.
