View Full Version : PS3 controller question

My buddy, once again the pro Sony guy, told me that the controller is getting a rumble feature. Now I saw an interveiw with the Sony president on G4 and he flatout said that even though the lawsuit with the company that makes the rumble feature was resolved, that they were going ahead with out the rumble feature for the fore seeable furture. My buddy told me that 80 gig PS3 will come with these new controllers, but I can't find anything that says they are getting a rumble pack. So has anyone else seen or heard anythign about this?

lies. they said in the e3 interview that there's no plans for rumble controllers yet.

Not yet; but I still miss it sometimes when I'm playing games like Motorstorm and I crash into a wall and stuff but it's not all that big of a deal to me and only takes a teeny bit away from the whole gaming experience.

Funny thing is, right after I posted this, I was watching Attack of the Show and they were reporting on a "leaked" photo of the new PS3 controller (the left analog stick and d-pad were switched) and they kept saying that the controller is getting a rumle pak. So I dont know, sounds like they might be putting one out. But then again I saw the same thing mor911 saw and Sony flat out said they werent bringing one out. So there seems to be conflicting reports

remember when the pic of the 80GB nox leaked? it had a sixaxis with a red 'ps3' logo. people raved and assumed it meant a new controller (a rumbling controller) was packed with the 80Gb. it was a rumor. Sony confirmed that the 80GB model comes with a regular sixaxis.

Kotaku's Brian Ashcraft is reporting (http://kotaku.com/gaming/it.s-real/sixaxis-rumble-confirmed-by-scea-employee-277564.php) that a Sony Computer Entertainment employee confirmed to him today that SixAxis with rumble is on the way. No other details were provided, although rumor broke earlier this week that a rumble-enabled controller would appear with the release of the new 80GB PlayStation 3 (http://gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=120888) this August.

This is the only thing I can find on it.
