Low awareness, low catching, low route running(i think thats a stat now, atleast it is in NCAA) Awareness for whatever reason makes up the bulk of your overall rating, can someone explain to me what awareness does if your not a quarterback?

Well that video in the rookie ratings summed up Miami's season in 2007: Miami QB throws interceptions on first play. DBs dropping interceptions. Turnover on downs. Miami QB gets sacked. Short pass completed. We didn't even get to see Ginn return the ball as they kicked the ball out of bounds on kick off and didn't punt on forth. What a waste.

I like what they've done with these rankings btw...I didnt like how rookies were starting to get ranked close to 90. I think they should be around 80 max, with a few exceptions (the reggie bush /calvin johnson's). Don't know why Quinn is only a 77 when someone like Meriweather gets an 82, but there you go.

Because it is harder for a QB to come in and be good right away, as opposed to a safety.

Yeah, but I don't know if that is a veritable precedent. If anything, Brady should be ranked higher, but Meriweather would likely progress better because of the fact you noted. It's kinda like when a college team loses a lot of talent and gets ranked poorly as a result. They're basing a something that will dictate the future on an assumption of what the future will be like.

I know some of you are waiting for this. Well here is the link that has some rookies player ratings for madden 2008. I do think Ginn got cheated by 1. He should have been 99 speed. Also i read an article on the E3 impressions of the game, and i heard that Tedd Ginn is RIdiculous. I can't wait for the game to come out.

Holy cow! Look at those ratings for Ginn! Yet, he's got a 79 overall rating? My god, his hands rating must be like a 12 or something!

Overall 79
Speed 98
Acceleration 99
Agility 99
Juke 99
Spin Move 96
Ball Carrier Visio 98

If I'm playing Madden 2008, absolutely Ted Ginn would be SICK to play with.

And yeah, Devin Hester claimed the first-ever 100 speed rating. Ginn would have gotten the 99 if he'd had a healthy workout prior to the draft. They probably just couldn't justify the 99 without having a 4.2x 40 in the books.

Jumping is big for WRs too, and without a doubt awareness factors in. We don't know what his release or catch in tarffic will be either and how much those effect overall ratings(awareness and jumping surely do a lot).

I can't tell if you're being facetious or if you haven't played the game in depth, but a 79 rating for a rookie is pretty good. Generally, the best player in the draft gets about an 82.

I said old news because 3 days in the gaming forum for such popular topics is pretty old. In 3 days multiple people can post the same information if they don't do a search. It was nothing against you, I had done the same thing a few time when I first started posting threads.

He was being facetious somewhat I'm sure. When you see 6 ratings in the high 90's and your overall is only a 79, you have to imagine he is very low in some areas that are important to WRs. A nd the first one taht comes to mind would be catching.

EA’s latest press release was about a new feature called RING OF A CHAMPION. The feature is the connection between the real world and the gaming world of Madden gamers. RING OF A CHAMPION is an actual ring that gamers can buy by accomplishing several goals in Madden 08. The achievements are tracked by levels and once a player reaches level 3 of 5 the game outputs a code that the player can insert on Jostens' website to purchase the ring.

:err:

DonShula84
07-17-2007, 04:18 AM
Each ring can be fitted with a variety of colors, but expect to pay anything from $149 for a non precious ring to $495 for a 10K Gold ring. If gamers choose to they can also include diamonds, simulated stones of choice, and cubic zirconium stones.

wow...who is the loser who is going to throw down 500$ for a Madden ring?

No chance IMO. I bet he is 91 at best. He might have the physical attributes of a 93, but I bet he gets hurt on ball carrier vision, carry, and awareness. That's what happens when you play behind a bad line.

I'm pretty sure he is. they were showing the top players for certain ratings, and Culpepper was there with the dolphins. although this was before he was cut, i'm pretty sure EA wont go back and change it. Ricky was still on the dolphins in madden 05, right after he retired, so i dont see them changing this trend

I can't tell if you're being facetious or if you haven't played the game in depth, but a 79 rating for a rookie is pretty good. Generally, the best player in the draft gets about an 82.

uh not really bro...RB was 84 then 87 i believe rookie year, caddy was 87 i believe as was bush and now calvin....82 is NOT the best player if so J Allen was 83 before he fell down due to lack of play time.

Jumping is big for WRs too, and without a doubt awareness factors in. We don't know what his release or catch in tarffic will be either and how much those effect overall ratings(awareness and jumping surely do a lot).

waht exactly is release? meaning off the line (snap)

It's new.

Like Steve Smith is the highest at release I think.

Doesn't the stradegy guide come out like a week before the game?

I never bought one for Madden.
Why would you need one?

And since when are you a mod?
