According to Rockstar Games spokesman Hosi Simon, however, there won't be any consolation prizes for those who choose to buy the PlayStation 3 edition instead. When asked during a preview of the game (which you can read about here (http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ps3/game/previews/article.jsp?releaseId=20060313153735796095&articleId=20070718175348602019&sectionId=1001), if you haven't already) whether there would be any advantage to owning the PS3 version that could rival the 360's exclusives, Simon said, "not that I can think of."

"They're identical games," Simon continued. "We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want.

"But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose," Simon said.

I'd say that too if Microsoft threw 50 million dollars at my company for exclusive downloadable content too.

Sony's upper executives have probably been burning up the phone lines to Rockstar ever since word of what this PR rep first said. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy got fired, honestly. Sony has got to be incensed: this is going to cost them a lot of sales.

Put this in writing.

GTA 4 will sell more copies on the 360 than the ps3. That will be the first time ever. That is not good news for sony. Given the fact that GTA has been there best seller of all time. Now 360 will have that advantage.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony counter this somehow.

Sony did, by ignoring GTA4 during E3. :D It was not featured as an upcoming PS3 game, why should they when the 360 has exclusive content and the "complete experience"?

If you had both systems, why would you buy the PS3 version of GTA4? Achievements and downloads on the 360 clearly make it the superior version. The fact MS spent $50 million to get this shows they are counting on it to sell systems for them.

Add in the fact, if you buy a nextgen system just for this game? It's $350 (with $50 drop) versus $500 (at best) for the lesser version.
