I was wondering if some of you guys out there thought it would be wise to reel in Simeon Rice. The guy could possibly come in cheap and help an already good Defense. The downside would be Roth would see less time at DE. Im all for watching Roth sack opposing QBs, but I would also like to see Rice, Taylor, Porter and Thomas all in DOlphins unis....

Rice is more of a 4-3 DE.

No. He's old, he's injured and besides that he's a big time POS.

I would pursue him if it was a need, but imho, don't think we're hurting in that department.

He's always been overrated. Why would we want a guy who just failed a physical with another team?

Even if Simeon is still a top 5 DE, we don't need to invest another huge chunk of salary cap space just to overkill opposing offenses.

Yep, I think we all saw what happens when we take someone with red flags.

Whenever a familiar name gets realeased, a "Should we sign _____?" thread pops up.

How many Donovan Darius threads were there about a month ago?

And no we should not sign Simeon Rice, this isn't 2001. Our defense is old as is, adding Rice only makes is older.

The thing is Simeon hasen't been in the top 5 DE's for quite some time.

The Giants have made it clear they're interested in adding Rice to replace Michael Strahan. Their best option behind Strahan is Justin Tuck, who is recovering from a Lisfranc injury. The Titans remain desperate for someone to book end Kyle Vanden Bosch after failing to address the hole all offseason.
