We have there second round pick for chambers. I know at this point we are only talking a couple spots if they do win. But at the time we made the trade I didnt know if the Chargers would even make the playoffs so I was thinking that pick would be in the 51-55 range now we could be looking at 60-63 range.

O well that just our luck. Lets just all watch Chambers eat up the Pats secondary and shrink the ego's of the damn Patriots. Im pretty sure most of you are on the same page, but im a pretty big Chargers fan on Sunday.

If the Chargers beat the Pats I would give that pick away all together. That's how much I just want the Pats to lose.

Actually, I'm hoping the Chargers go ahead and win out and end up with the last pick of each round. That way we'd have the last pick of the second round and the first pick of the third round (I believe we still have that pick). Back to back picks would be nice in my opinion.

The best the Chargers pick will be is 58th, based on regular season records and playoff results (assuming they lose). If they win the super bowl, the pick is obviously 63rd overall. Those five spots, while significant is not nearly a huge enough hit to even think about hoping the Pats win.

LET'S GO CHARGERS !!!

They're a better matchup than the Jaguars. The Chargers have some players (namely Cromartie) that will make you pay for throwing the ball, much more so than the Jaguars.

Yes but with Rivers and Gates out and LT injured I dont think they have a shot in hell. NE has proven they can ouot 30-40 points up against the best defenses in the league. For SD to even stay competitive they have to go head to head with NE and unfortunately I dont see a gods chance in hell of that happening, not with back-ups playing at key spots

Rivers and Gates, at this point in time, are listed as Game Time Decisions. Latest rumors are that Rivers has a partially torn ACL.

i'm rooting for the pats, the chargers are nothing but crybaby's and zero class athletes. Rivers is the worst of them all. i dislike the guy more then brady after seeing his shinanigans all of this season, particularly at the end of the regular season and into the playoffs. there is no reason a quarterback is who is not on the field for the final drive of the game to go talk trash to fans. the guy is a cancer and i bet the players on that team feel extremely dis-priveledged to be his team mate.

NFL.com said they were ruled as out at 7am this morning. Now it says they "sit" so my source changed its tune.. If rivers plays then they have a much better chance, but if they dont, i dont see a shot in hell of them winnig

Chargers are better with Rivers, but not radically better. Volek is a decent quarterback, and he had some outstanding games in Tennessee a few years ago. If both Gates and Rivers are out however, the Chargers got no chance against the Pats.

i dont see them winning either, although i would love for it to happen. something about the patriots going undefeated and matching our perfect season the same year that we had our worst year in franchise history just doesnt sit right with me. there is nothing good about the patriots or what they represent. stupid patsies.

Ok, Rivers is a cancer on this team. That is the FUNNIEST thing I've ever read regarding Rivers.

Regarding the Cutler situation. I finally got to see the other angles too, but the Chargers have actually kept quiet about what Cutler was doing. First time ever, Eric Allen, a FORMER raider of all people finally went up to bat what Cutler was doing towards Rivers and his teammates.
http://ne.edgecastcdn.net/0000A6/espnpod2/espnradio/insider/herd/herd_01172008_8.mp3

I was at this game, and was behind the bench -- I saw the whole thing happened, but UNFORTUNATELY, the guys at ESPN gave one side of the story.

He is a cancer? Yeah, ask Lorenzo Neal, Antonio Gates, LaDainian and anyone else on that team what they think about Rivers.

If he is a cancer, then goodness we are in deep trouble. The good news, you're not the Chargers GM. :-)

The guy does NOT curse, does NOT belittle anyone, it's all done in fun and jest. Heck, the worst thing to come out of his mouth is, 'gosh dogget' Notice what Warren Sapp, Jared Allen, and a bunch of other NFL athletes say about the guy. It's the fans and idiot like Colin Cowherd and or that Skip Bayless guy TALKINg and saying things that don't even make sense.

Both former quarterbacks, who admittedly like Philip Rivers as a person and a player, discussed the hot topic of the week – Rivers' propensity to talk with fans and opposing players. Simms, who has spent more time with Rivers, called ESPN's comparison of him with Ryan Leaf “awful” and added, “Thank God they didn't cover the NFL like this when I was playing. Who knows what I was saying to people.
“Some of the stuff on the field doesn't bother me the way it seems to bother other people. It's an emotional game. He's been an emotional quarterback.
“Here in New York, they always complain Eli Manning doesn't show enough emotion. . . . That's who (Rivers) is, that's how he makes it work. Just don't yell at the fans.”
Said Aikman, who met Rivers this summer: “He's got charisma, he's smart, he works hard. I told a number of people he's one of the most impressive quarterbacks I've been around. It's unfortunate with what has happened on the field with Denver and last week against Indianapolis. I'm disappointed now there's an image and perception of Philip Rivers that I don't think is accurate.”

In my boo, the kid is fiery, competitive, and all he wants to do is win. I'll take our 'problem child' and can't to see him develop. Do what do you..PR be PR.

Pats must lose. I don't care about moving up or down a few spots for a pick. Must protect the only perfect season.

I hope that the Chargers can pull it off. I'll rooting for them. I just found out that Volek is from Sacramento,CA (where I live). His father coached CSUS Hornets and is now a coach at a local community college.

GO CHARGERS!

Sure is really weird how Rivers is getting so much hate. The guy doesnt even curse. All he does is talk on the field like many other players do....including Brady who went out of his way to say something to a player after a TD pass and doesnr shake the opposing QB's hand after a loss.

All Rivers said to Cutler was " atta baby" but he got roasted by the media who had no idea what he said. Our LB Shaun Phillips said Cutler was the one runing his mouth but Rivers gets caught on tape saying somehing and he is the bad guy.

I do not know what he said to the Colts fans but im sure it wasnt anything mor than maybe " scoreboard" or something like that. Maybe he shouldnt of said anything, but at least he isnt flipping them the bird or cursing at them aftr they were doing just that when he was going in the locker room. He just smiled at them and said "thank you"

Yeah, what a turd he is. Married to his junior high sweetheart and has 3 girls with the 4th on the way and doesnt use any profanity ever.

And BTW .... his team mates love the guy as everybody else that knows him does. They stick up for him and support him in what he does. You wont find anybody on that team saying they do not care for him.
I guess you missed Lorenzo Neals latest on sticking up for him when Mike & Mike read the article on ESPN radio during their show on TV.

For cris sakes Vick is in jail for what he did and Pacman is going to strip clubs and getting people shot and being a bad example all around but Rivers is hated for being one of the guys on the field like over half the league does themselves.

Sorry, i just dont get it!:shakeno:

personally.. I don't like the pats becoming the first 19-0 team more than I don't like some qb that has shown his fanny a half dozen times.. but that's just me.
