Do you guys think Ireland will draft John Booty as our QB in the draft this year? He would be a low pick, maybe second round, and has some decent skills.

I'm saying this strictly for the nickname value - Hell yes they should.

I live on the west coast so I've seen him play quite a few times. I think he's good, but he's nothing special. I think Beck is better than him, and if we're going to draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd, my view is he should at least grade out higher than Beck.

Way too early to tell! Booty may even rise to the top or fall clear out of the 3rd rd between now and the Draft. He may not even be on our list of possibles at all by then!

He's probably the most underrated QB in this draft class, amazing considering he went to USC. After seeing all the practices, I'd rather see us pick Booty than any of the quarterbacks on the South roster. Woodson has better upside, but he also carries more risk.

If Dolphins draft him, do I still wear my "John takes it up the Booty" anti-$C shirt?

Hey I would buy 1, I think hes a win, win - decent qb, may be a low steal in the 3rd round, and the nickname and joke possibilities are endless. :D

What are the chances that we have a Booty, a Mormon and a Lemon at QB?

No way.
This guy was/is overrated in College. I dont see him drafted till the 4th/5th round.
He throws the ball way to hard on every pass. He doesnt have that "touch" throw QBs need.

No thank you and I'm not sure if I want a quarterback with the name of John David Booty on the Dolphins.

Yep.

Though I think we can get him in the 4th all the way down to 6th really.

Then there would be more booty in Miami, how much can this town take?

I just don't think he is that good...he is not Carson Palmer or Matt Leinart...I would go with Flacco or Henne in the third, even Ainge, before Booty.

Palmer was definitely a better prospect than Booty, but Leinart looked great because of his supporting cast. Booty's college hype won't help in the the NFL, he's probably more of a mid round pick. All the same, he's a much better NFL prosect than Ainge. If it comes down to picking up Flacco in the 2nd round or picking Booty in the 3rd round, I'll go with Booty in the 3rd. Booty probably ends up being the better value. I like Henne the best of the 3, I wouldn't mind seeing us pick him with our 2nd round pick.

Hopefully we don't draft him.

Hopefully we don't draft him.

He's much better than some of the alternatives, like Ainge in the middle rounds. Booty throws a consistant good ball and has good awareness in the pocket. He may not be as good as the hype he received at USC, but he's much better than what many give him credit for.

What makes you say that? He was probably the 2nd most impressive QB in the Senior Bowl practices (Henne was the most impressive QB, IMO), he has a good arm and has good awareness in the pocket. He's also a pretty good "leader" in the huddle. I don't get why so many people hate him as a prospect, it's not like anybody is talking about taking him with the 32nd pick (although we could certainly do worse), he's an excellent middle round prospect. He doesn't have Flacco's upside (not many do), but he still has plenty to work with, and he's a fairly polished QB with some pretty good intangibles. He's probably somebody the Patriots will really look at in the mid rounds.
