Don't we also have the pats 2nd for welker? So we have 3 2nds, right?

1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7

We wouldn't get a compensatory pick for Welker since we traded with New England. They didn't sign him as a restricted free agent.

Is there anyone besides Barber on the Cowboys that we should get if your draft scenario is true? I'm thinking OL, like maybe Flozell Adams

Or maybe their safety Roy Williams in a sign and trade?

no barber. possibly williams. more like fasano, spears, carpenter - something like that.

Roy Williams is HORRIBLE....and that's not my opinion, that's the opinion of the majority of Cowboy fans who watch him every game. No thanks.

As for the Welker-comensatory pick thing...the guy who mentioned that it was a trade was correct....but I would like to add that even if it wasn't a trade and they did sign him as a RFA....we would have received only the RFA compensation, and not a compensatory pick.

i see all these people hating on r williams on here all the time. hes not that bad. his negatives are he flakes on pass coverage sometimes and misses tackles because he tries to rip everyones head off. i still think hes a top 10-15 safety in this league. i am just worried about our safeties. bell, IMO, is awesome but mat have a hard time coming back from the injury. the jury is still out on allen, but i think he should do fine if we keep his scheme simple so he can actually learn how to succeed at 1 position. hill is nothing more than a backup - and hes gettting paid way more than backup money - so he is gone. tillman - please. the reason i keep throwing williams out there is because a trade down with dallas is not only our best option, but the most realistic trade down scenario. i would want fasano, carpenter, and spears - and possibly williams to sweeten the pot (and picks, ofcourse) - because we are not gonna look at drafting a safety until the later rounds - where i would be happy with zbikowski - but safety isnt our most dire need, so who knows. i would also be happy with wilson, but again, not likely. williams would be nice to have if either bell needs time to recover from the injury, if he does at all, and allen might decide to suck it up again next year. so, in conclusion, williams does not suck and we might need him - and he might not cost us all that much. boomshakalaka.

I wouldn't have such a strong opinion on him if I didn't have a couple of people who watch him every play of every game complaining how awful he is. he's a liability in coverage. and the big hitting that he made his name on is gone....he's not even a reliable tackler anymore.

he was never a reliable tackler, hence being near the top of the league every year in missed tackles - which i agree is not good. i did watch him last year murder a couple people, so the hitting is still there - unfortunately so is the horse collaring. the guy isnt my first choice, but i would take him in a trade down scenario.

Question: Would Roy Williams upgrade, or downgrade, our current secondary??????
DUH!

If the price is right, I'll take him. pretty much any starter from any other roster in league would upgrade our secondary.

I live in Dallas, and am married to a Dallas fan. That means that, unfortunately, I have to watch them play every week. I also listen to the local sports radio stations (where's Greggo ;)), and have a bunch of buddies who are diehard Cowpoke fans whom I talk to every day.

I can tell you that Roy Williams does one thing, and one thing well - hit hard. He does not tackle well, as he does not know how to wrap people up, always going for the big hit instead. He can't cover the ground he walks on, and any team that plays against the Cows line up three and four receivers to find ways to get 1-on-1 matchups with him. His "smarts" have been questioned, as he constantly takes poor angles, is often out of position, and continues to get penalized for an infraction that was created because of him.

Bottom line - if you want a saftey who can blitz, hurt someone, play at the line and nothing more, than Williams is your guy. If you want a safety that will improve your secondary, then you best look elsewhere.

Little correction, Samson Satele and Abraham Wright.

If I were to do a trade with Dallas I would be looking to get the better of the deal. After all it is our #1 pick. I would want Spears or Ware. not sure I would want Williams, and if it was Barber, it would only be to trade him on again. Just my opinion of course.
