Can anyone either tell me or point me to a good tutorial that shows you how to make the glassy look, the web 2.0 look, that I keep seeing every where?

I have tried looking myself and all the tutorials I find are the ones that show you how to make buttons. I am trying to find something to show me how to do it to bigger pictures, so it looks like it is under the glass.

Could you show me an example of what you're talking about bro? I think I know the effect you're trying to get, it can be done with gradients or lighting/shadowing with a gaussian blur.

If I remember correctly, that is done with a very large round brush with white as the color.

You make your banner and give it color, add a gradient as an overlay and adjust the opacity and fill to your desired taste. Then open a new layer, take a very large round brush (I forget the pixel size I used to use, but try anything between 800-2000) and position the brush just so the tip of it meets both of the upper corners of your banner, then click. Now you can change the layer properties (Overlay, Lighten, soft light, etc) and adjust the opacity and fill to make it look the way you want.

That's one way to do it, I'm sure there are others. If anyone wants to add their technique, feel free.

Thanks 777. That helped out. I have been trying to get the look that the picture is under glass. The trick with the text was really cool too. Will have to remember that.
