well, I don't know about the others, but I simmed a pretty good chunk of my season. (the one loss came when I let the computer simulate the game against Philly, a 30-27 loss in OT) needless to say when I saw Philly in the Super Bowl, I had to take the reigns on that one. And still only beat them in OT 26-20 (Surtain took a pick back for a TD in OT)

Well, I don't sim the whole season, just the weeks with uninteresting Games, I would have played the Philly game, but I was sleepy and wanted to finish the season and get into the playoffs before I went to bed. of the 19 games I played a dozen of them.

Prime Time pay CK. You took that old saying from him. Just kidding. I won two SBs

11-5
12-4
and then lost in the second round the next year.

I was kicked out for going negative. Went to Cardinals and then a whole saga began ending with me coming back to Boston(Dolphins moved and became the Rhinos!!!!). Now I am trying to move them back home.

Right now I am 7-0 with Miami--1st year still. Sir-tain is the man with Int. passes!! PT, I followed your advice, and so far it has worked to my benefit. BTW, when I started Miami for the first year, RW was out for like 2 or 3 wks with injury and Seau has been out for like 5 wks with a broken hip-bone. I saw Seau was out so I hit the F/A and got a guy named ? Robinson, and he has been a monster for my D.

Yup. Actually, I simmed a whole season. Heh, I was up till 7AM yesterday messing around with my season. Then I hit a brick wall with the scouting combine and went to bed. That's a beast I need to be awake for when I tackle it. :)

I just wanted to get the hang of things. I was just gonna do a season and then blow it up. But I did really well financially. And I love the whole micro-management side of things. So I may just keep going. Still, you're probably going to suffer a lot more injuries if you don't do a training camp and sim the whole season (like I did).

Meanwhile, I'm doing a lot of practice sessions to get the hang of the gameplay. It's been a few years since I've had a football game.

M-Real which tip helped you out???

Yes, Surtain is the man with INTs in the game. He has good hands. He had 12 for me in my Trial Season.

Right now I am 11-0
I traded away Greise for a 1st and 3rd draft pick and then traded Sage for Seneca Wallece. two weeks later feidler breaks his foot and is our for 8 wks. right now Wallace is leading for O Rookie of the year.
Ricky is leading the league with 1,500 Yds rushing.
O-Gun leading league in sacks with 16 right now!!!!

And right now we are filling the stadium @ home game for two strait weeks!!!!

Prime Time
08-23-2003, 12:41 PM
:nono: I do not understand why people trade....it ends up hurting you in the long run then it does help you. I use to do it but realized it too late in Madden 03. Especially this year that they have salary's for everyone every year. What I mean is.....

By trading away let's say Brian Griese..you get a 2 million dollar cap hit.
Then the following offseason you get that cap hit, and you are trying to re-sign the likes of Todd Wade, Tommy Hendricks, Travis Minor (unresignable IMO), Arturo Freeman and alot of other guys, you will be short because of the Cap Hit. Then you will probably end up cutting someone else to make room for these guys and the following year you will have another Cap Hit(s). Just not smart to trade away, and that is why barely anyone does it in the NFL.

MarinoFan4Life

That's a good point PT, but I also traded Griese away for a first rounder...

I am now 13-4 going to Oakland for the AFC Championship Game

Ricky was the only player with over 2000 yds (2,076) and set a record with 26 touchdowns

SO going into Oakland they are without these key players
Philip Buchanon
Jerry Rice
Tim Brown
Bill Rowmanoski
Jerry Porter

Gee I hope I can win

Okay, regarding trades, one benefit of trading is, if you trade away for a guy that had a huge signing bonus, then the team he was with eats the signing bonus, and you get him for the rest of his contract for Salary only. This can save you money in the long run for a short term hit if you are trading a guy with a smaller signing bonus.

Prime Time
08-24-2003, 03:17 PM
Teh don't give a guy a huge signing bonus...trading IMO is bad and that is why it isn't done more often in NFL.

I didn't say anything about giving a guy a huge signing bonus.

I said that trading can be financially smart if your trading for a computer player that has a huge signing bonus if your giving up a player with a large salary and a smaller signing bonus, because after the trade you get the guy without having to pay anything on his signing bonus and you get rid of you players salary for the cost of only taking a hit that one year. After that first year your better off for the trade.

Trades can be beneficial, you just need to look for the right one.

Here is why i traded.
1) I like to use a mobile QB
2) Brain and jay are about the same in the game ( Why keep them both if you don't want either for the future?).
3) Seneca is a bad Mofo!!!!
4) I can use the draft to get a good young Players to replace ones i can't sign

Let see I just completed the season on a PRO.

18-1 My only loss came in the superbowl.

Fiedler threw for 3500 yards 35 Td's - 9 Int's
Ricky finish with 2108 yards but I came in 2nd to league rushing tittle.
Chambers finish with 71 catches for 1300 yards.

On defense
Madison
Surtain
Fletcher
Ogunleye

All made probowl.

I think I'm ready for all pro even though Rams manage to steal the superbowl from Dolphins.
