Hot off the presses, a new downloadable map pack has just been released for SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault. This is the third downloadable map pack released for the two titles. This new downloadable map pack includes the classic SOCOM and SOCOM II maps Crossroads, Fishhook, Frostfire and Guidance.

Crossroads is a SOCOM II urban map based in North Africa. Crossroads consistently ranks as the most popular classic SOCOM map and a next generation version of Crossroads will be featured in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. It is playable in a day or night setting with up to 16 players in Suppression, Demolition and Control gametypes.

Fishhook is a SOCOM II map based on a seaside North African village. It is playable with up to 16 players in a day or night setting in Suppression, Extraction, Control and Breach gametypes.

Frostfire is a SOCOM map which features an oil drilling platform off of the coast of Alaska. It is playable in a day or night setting with up to 16 players in Suppression, Control and Demolition gametypes.

Guidance is a SOCOM II map which features an ex-soviet military base in Russia. It is playable in a day or night setting with up to 16 players in Suppression, Demolition and Control gametypes.

The price of the new map pack, FREE! In fact, we are making all three of the SOCOM 3 and SOCOM CA Downloadable Map Packs free from this point forward. This is no April Fools joke. We want to give something back to all of the fans who have stuck with us all of this time.

This is a great opportunity to get your Crossroads fix in before SOCOM Confrontation is released on the PLAYSTATION®3 this September. It will also give you a good opportunity to see first hand how far SOCOM has come with the latest PS3™ installment. After playing both versions, there is no way I can go back. Experiencing Crossroads in SOCOM Confrontation on the PS3 is like experiencing it again for the first time. While the layout is instantly familiar to anyone who has spent hundreds of hours playing Crossroads in SOCOM II, the level of detail which is achieved on the PS3 makes it a whole new experience.

Stumbled across this. I am downloadin them now to see if they are any good.

HA!!! Weren't those supposed to be released about two years ago? I remember the updates saying "any day now."

I wasted many, many hours playing SOCOM, but those days are long gone.

Frostfire was great.

Frostfire, Crossroads, Fishhook....man talk about some fond memories of online mayhem. Though I will say that as much as I enjoyed playing on Hook, it was definitely one of those few maps that could get very annoying with grenades(about as bad as Sujo, but I loved that map too), it was pure intense firefights regardless.

Sadly my PS2 is in the crapper so I won't get to enjoy this map pack. :shakeno:

Waiting for the next Socom..

I got into Socom II heavily for a little while, bought the 3rd one and never opened it :err:. Unfortunately I have hard time enjoying games anymore. I would say in the past 10 years the most games I've actual put real hours into are Ultima Online, Socom II, COD4 and even then I only had maybe 35 hours or so played on that.
