Though I love the Stones, I would have say the Beatles, they had more hits and great song writers, plus all 4 could sing and had careers after the breakup.

Stones are a rock band. Beatles were the first boy band. Not that they weren't great, but they don't rock like the Stones.

Beatles are much better than the Stones IMO. If you listen to their more "garage" type music you'll come to appreciate them more.

No doubt the Beatles were one of the greatest bands ever. But the Stones rock out more, IMHO, of course. Plus Paul McCartney never snorted his poppas ashes. That's Rock 'n Roll.

As it has already been stated, if you want down and dirty rock n' roll...then The Stones are the way to go.

The Beatles pretty much perfected the template for pop rock. No other band since has even come close to matching the brilliant melodies the band produced. What's even more amazing is that all these songs we all know...all these amazing albums (especially from Rubber Soul on)...all happened in the span of 7 years. 7 YEARS...that's it!!! (of course I'm talking about their major label studio albums, from Please Please Me to Let it Be). That's why I'm going to give my vote to The Beatles, their catalog has less filler.

These 2 bands loved each others music and that helped elevate them to great heights. Wow the 60's really was an amazing decade......for music at least

I have better appreciation for the Rolling Stones after seeing Shine a Light, but they can't write songs like Lennon could.

I'd definately go for the Beatles without a doubt.

i really never got too into the rolling stones. most of thier stuff never really did much for me (with the exception of a few songs) but the beatles have very few songs that don't just kick *** in my opinion. i'm just talking how the music sounds to me, not how anyone acted or what they did...

beatles by a mile. a lot of their stuff actually quite experimental and very dynamic. helter skelter is as gritty a rock song as there is

I think Beatles wrote way better songs. The Stones were probably better on stage, but they were also around a lot longer....had the Beatles stayed together for 40+ years I can only imagine the songs they would have created. Damn you Yoko Ono!!!!
