ok, so since the trade for Ayodele and Fasano just went down i thought it'd be prudent to do an emergency mock to take into account those acquisitions before the draft starts.

1. Jake Long T Michigan
he's the pick. yay i got it right!

2a. Antoine Cason CB Arizona
will likely be BPA and also certainly the best defensive back available, and since our secondary is rather porous, he's gotta be the guy here. even if Groves is on the board, i think that at the time being DB is a bigger need than a rush linebacker since we have some depth there, if not a star for the time being, in the secondary we have no depth and no star, Cason gives us a star in the making.

2b. Early Doucet WR LSU
with the needs at TE and LB filled, the Dolphins can address their need at WR, behind Ginn and Wilford (neither whom have proven they are a number one receiver in this league) we have absolutely no one, Doucet gives us at least three serviceable wideouts, should develop into a good possession guy.

3. John Greco G Toledo
We need to fill another hole on our line, and Greco is one of the top guard prospects, can play four of five line positions which gives us some depth, which is also a major concern. should start right away.

4. no pick

5. no pick

6a. Gary Guyton LB Georgia Tech
guy's a specimen, he's 6'1'' 245 and runs a 4.47 40, with a 40 inch vertical, also put up 22 reps on the bench. at worst he's a special teams standout.

6b. Jacob Hester FB/RB LSU
he's a tweener, but was productive at LSU. Hester gives us some depth at running back and Mauia some competition at FB, another guy who could be a key special teamer. Can be a brusier and soften up defenses for Ronnie.

7a. Lionel Dotson DT Arizona
projects at end in our scheme, but got to the QB for 6.5 sacks in 07, not bad for a guy playing on the inside of the line, provides depth behind Matt Roth and could push for playing time.

7b. Rocky Shwartz SS Houston
another guy who in the words of Emmit Smith, 'blowed up' at his workout. at 5'10'' 204 he ran a 4.42 40, notched a vertical of 41 1/2 inches and benched 25 reps, had 87 tackles and two picks last season.

as you can see, some major changes here because of the trade, i was a little uneasy about passing on Josh Barrett in the third, but not having a fourth rounder made getting a guard a priority at that point, but other than that i'm pretty comfortable with this my final mock.

I like the first 3 rounds. Would solidify us with a very young offense with a world of potential and give us the shutdown corner we need. I think we pick up another 2nd and 4th tomorrow in a trade for JT. I just hope we don't take a QB on Day 1. Too many other needs.

Looks solid but didn't we pick up another FB (Brigsby) from KC ?

Good stuff 1-3

I'd be happy with that.
I'd also really like to nab Hardy.... if he's there at 2a and Groves is gone, I'd have to pull the trigger... He just massive (6'5"???) and had not nearly as much talent around him as some of the other WR's. I'd be pretty happy with any combo of WR and CB in round 2. I still am pulling for Groves though if he's there, lol

I`d rather have Jordy Nelson than Doucett...but otherwise, great mock!
