What does that have to do with Saban, they were all Mike Shula's players, look at the LSU players drafted, those were Saban's players, and 3-4 years from now there will be plenty of Bama players called on the 1st day. Actually one will most likely be called top 5 next year.

Don't know much about DJ Hall, how good is he?

Even though this says nothing about Saban, I enjoyed it. Screw you, Nick. Sounds like he was talking up his old LSU guys to Mort, however. Hmm ... Perhaps he will be returning to the Bayou?

Good college player, bad attitude. He had a knack for the ball, even though he didn't really have the speed or size you'd want in a receiver in the SEC. But he ran horrible routes and had a sense of entitlement that he never quite got over. Typical receiver primadonna.

yea this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Nick Saban . . . this is all Mike Shula . . . and really shows you how bad the program was . . . Nick put up arguably the best recruiting class this year . . . I don't know WHAT kids and the families see in this snake . . . but u gotta give him props on his recruiting game . . . the man was BORN for college coaching.

I think the U had the best class this year. And while it isnt really his fault, I think we should send an email or text to all of his recurits pointing out NO ONE from Alabama went to the NFL in 2008...

DJ Hall would be a very good receiver in the right situation.

I think Bama was ranked #1 ahead of the U . . . but some people have the U as the best . . . I think missing out on that Ely CB dropped them

the lack of draftable talent shows what Bama has been working with the last couple of years. Saban, for all his faults can recruit like a mother so the Bama players NFL draft status will continue to improve.
Mike Shula is and was a nice guy, but he did not blow anybody away with his coaching or recruiting skills. As a Tide fan I'm glad he is gone from U of A, and as a Dolphins fan I'm glad Saban is gone from the Dolphins. It worked out good for me as a dolphin and Crimson Tide fan so I'm good with Saban leaving and Parcells taking the reigns.

D.J. Hall and Simeon Castille and even Wallace Gilberry were all talented recruits and he did nothing in two years to get them drafted.

Pathetic.:sidelol::kick:

Unless I overlooked... Did Nick Saban's 'short' behavior and experience as a NFL head coach with Miami deminish his players NFL-readiness or was his players just not that good?

Well Saban didn't recruit any players on this years Bama team really that were in the draft, so you can't make a connection this year.

He was working with Mike Shula's god awful recruits.
But beware...This years #1 recruiting class..The Tide is

Alabama student here. None of our guys were really that great this year to project to the NFL. The only player I thought would go would be DJ Hall. And whoever picks him up as an UDFA got a hell of a steal. But this years senior class should produce some NFL stars on the OLine and Defense. Also as someone said beware the Tide as we did have the #1 recruiting class in the nation.

He is good when he wants to play. Takes plays off and is small. Could be a good 4th or 5th wideout for someone.

Florida only had 2 players go pro this year, what does that say to you?

It probably should say that they had 13 get drafted last season... USC had an insane amount of players go first day.

As for recruiting in college, last year Alabama had the #1 class as far as bodies go, but when you considering that Florida and Notre Dame had less players go, they had the #1 classes. They both brought in 5 5 stars and a plethora of 4 stars.

I read on another message board type site that DJ Hall signed with the Giants - no link was provided so just take it fwiw - just thought I'd pass it along.

I was hoping we would sign him. Figured we could offer him a better shot than most teams at making the roster....
