View Full Version : Did we make a mistake by passing on Super Mario?

Let me start off by saying that I originally was not a big fan of drafting Chad Henne in the second round. But then as things unfolded, we would have been foolish to pass on him with our second pick of round 2. The only thing I question about him is his accuracy, but then again, John Beck was supposed to be accurate and I can recall countless times him either underthrowing a receiver or throwing it behind a reciever. Chad Henne has all the tools that I like in a qb and I hope he wins the starting job.
But if you look at game film his junior and senior year, you start to see a chemistry that developed between him and Mario Manningham. This is emminent if you watch the 2008 Capital One Bowl. My question to you all is that did you think we should have taken Manningham, instead of Kendall Langford with our round three selection. If you can put play-making recievers around your quarterback its huge. But to me, it would be even more of an asset to have a reciever with such a strong chemistry with a quarterback on your team.

No.Lanford is a soild football player. We couldn,t stop the run last year. When you lose 6 games by 4 points or less. You need to stop the run.We got WR,s.Thats the nexted thing to look at.Maybe trade JT for a WR.Maybe look at Roy Williams..Maybe give them JT and a 2nd nexted years draft..I,ll do that...

we really should add a WR this off-season/TC.

i think Chad Johnson is still available, while YES he is a mouthy SOB, he can still catch the ball!! NE gave up a 4th for Randy Moss, i see no reason why we couldnt give up a 4th (or even 3rd) for CJ.
