I got the warranty from Gamestop although I think it only covers it for a year? Anyone know the price and length it takes to get these ****ty things repaired?

see if you're warranty is still good. if it was the 3 red lights then the repair is free and it should only take up to a month (ive done it like 4 times)...

Mine over heats and turns red every time i play Grand Theft Auto for more than like ten minutes. I'm really tired of MicroSoft in general.

I assume it would be. Didn't they extend it an extra 2 years because of all the faulty 360's? I've only had it for a little over a year. Hopefully they'll just exchange it and send me an Elite

I played GTA4 for hours and never had a single problem. My 360 runs cooler than my PS3 feeling the grills.

I didn't even put that many hours into it compared to alot of people. I mean the game I played most I think was COD4 and I think I only played roughly 60 hours playtime, and I just recently started playing it again for Ninja Gaiden and Bad Company. Oh well...I'll give em a call tomorrow I guess. Now if I can only manage to get into MGS4..the cutscenes already are starting to annoy me.

Well if it is not the three red lights, then its probably 99 dollars, that is what they said mine would cost and it would take 4-6 weeks.

My hard drive got the E68 error and now i lost all my game saves and stuff. My live membership expires in July, and i'm tired of the Microsoft unreliable service. I really like the 360 but i'm sick of the problems mine keep having, i'm going to get a PS3.

Im on my 3rd one, but theyre really fast.
If you want a quick fix for the overheating problem wrap it in towels and run it for like 30 minutes. I dont know how it works but it fixes it.

they're usually pretty quick with returning it. Sucks, but thats the price to pay for Xboxs games right now.

I just sent off for my 4th Xbox. I'd suggest doing what I'm going to do when I get mine back. I'm going straight to the local game store with some games I don't play and trading it in for either a new white one or an elite, depending on how much money I get for the trades. The new consoles heave heatsinks built-in, not to mention HDMI outputs, to prevent the overheating. Pain in the ***, but my warranty is up in November :(

P.S. I bitched enough to the repair center to get a free controller out of the deal!

You must of went threw it when they were giving people hard times with the warranties and trying to say there was nothing wrong with the 360's. I tried getting mine fixed before they started doing it for free and i told them to screw themselves(once they did it for free i sent mine in). I had no problem after that, I know alot of people before me did but i think early on they really werent prepared for the kind of mass amounts of 360's they were doing and did a ****ty job. It's there own fault for rushing out the 360 to begin with. A working 360 is awesome and a great console(better than ps3) but alot of people had bad experiences with the 360 and its frustrating.

My hard drive died, and my GTA over heats my system after playing it for like an hour. The entire system is junk.

I played GTA for multiple hours and my 360 doesn't break a sweat. In fact my PS3 runs hotter than my 360.

I've had my 360 running fine since December 05, but you don't offer a THREE year warranty unless there are issues.

I think the new smaller and cooler chips are resolving the problem, and there are a ton of great games for the 360 so it's worth the risk to own.

I feel bad for those that went through the whole process, but especially for those that have done so two or three times.
