In case you haven't seen this--a long read, but some great stuff. This guy captures the way most of America outside New England feels about the Cheatahs.

Among my favorites--

"As the special-teams units jogged onto the field, I saw exactly what I had been waiting for all year: Junior Seau, Mike Vrabel, and Tedi Bruschi with stick marks from the Giants’ offensive line in their ear holes and sucking wind like they just received a marathon butt****ing."

One good read deserves another.

I especially like this quote

“Well, we did it,” proclaimed Bills owner Ralph Wilson. “After three years of heartbreak, and everyone predicting we’d lose again, we finally did it.

Wow--yours wasn't even funny. That was just crap--written by some Onion wanna/neverwill/be from Podunk U. BTW, unlike you all, Bills fans are long over 0 for 4, so I'd laugh if it was funny, but geez, that drivel is just a waste of web.....

The article I linked to was, any objective observer would agree, about 10 times better written, combining both insights on the game and the season with humorous asides like the one I quoted above. Here's another:

"Looking back on all the other dynasties in pro football, I cannot think of another one that has been more reviled league and nationwide than the Patriots. It’s not because they win; it’s how they win, and how they seemed to behave as world-beaters even though their margin of victory in championship games was smaller than Belichik’s dick."

Or this one, just for you, Mr. NFL Fan, on the David Tyree catch and the reaction of the obnoxious Pats fans the author was watching the game with:

"I turned around to find the bank of Patriots fans and saw masks of utter horror and shock on their faces as if they were thinking, “****, that’s only supposed to happen for us, not to us.”

"Wilson then stood up and left the room, followed by the rest of the Bills front office and the players. The next day, all 53 men on the Buffalo roster announced their retirements. The day after that, Rich Stadium was blown up. The day after that, the earth was salted so that no other stadiums could grow again on the same spot."

That is not only funny its hilarous :sidelol:

I was picking up my son from his church camp last week listening to sports radio and they had several New england sports writers talking about the Super Bowl. They said that it was in the best they lost, stating it would have been a forever tarnished record.

I think in years past patriots peak about in december and play their best foot ball later in the season. Last year after week2 sandeigo they hit the gas too early . I for one think no matter what happened it was too early and just burned the team out.

this year i am looking for it be a normal year. good to decent start drop a game or 2 and start winning solid games after thanksgiving and hitting the playoff with the same emotional status as week 2 of last year.

Nice find MattM. Interesting and humorous article. Though I wouldn't go so far as to use the title "Autopsy Report" like the author did.

I don't quite understand why so many people are assuming New England is going to collapse this year. I keep hearing that the Patriots were 'exposed' and now the rest of us have a blueprint on how to beat New England. Has anybody stopped to think that their players are going to be that much more motivated, and their coaching staff has worked all off-season to come up with plans that will counter a game plan like the Giants used? Despite the superior execution by the Giants, it took a one-in-a-thousand improable play to win by a field goal. Realistically, they have to be considered early favorites to win the Super Bowl this year.

While both have funny bits, the biggest difference is that the link you posted is fictional. The link he posted actually happened.

And to be honest, the non-fictional occurrence was much funnier.
