A policeman and a former corrections officer say that on Friday, they will unveil evidence of what they claim is their biggest capture ever: the body of Bigfoot.

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, a pair of Bigfoot-hunting hobbyists from north Georgia, say they found the creature's body in a wooded area and spotted several similar creatures that were still alive.

The carcass of the furry half-man, half-ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs more than 500 pounds, they say. However, the two are not disclosing the exact location of their discovery in order to protect the remaining creatures.

Tom Nelson, chairman of the biology department at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, said he's "pretty skeptical" the world will feast its eyes on a new species Friday.

"That would certainly rock mammalogy," joked Nelson, who specializes in the study of mammals. "I see a research grant in my future."
Whitton and Dyer plan to unveil what they say is DNA and photo evidence of the discovery in Palo Alto, California, in conjunction with a group called Searching for Bigfoot Inc.

A photograph on that group's Web site shows what appears to be the body of a large, hairy creature with an ape-like face, stuffed into a large freezer.

This more than likely might turn out to be a hoax. It definitely looks like one. But imagine if it's true. I question why they held on to it for weeks now. I would have went right to the press if this was me. Who knows. I guess tomorrow we will get more info.

Here's a video as well.

Let me get this straight, you find a body you think may be the infamous Big Foot, and your first reaction is to wait, hold a press conference and only show photo and DNA? Where is the body?

Smells of a hoax to me.

This is interesting to me. I have a friend who lives in Flin Flon Manitoba about 800 km north of Winnipeg, he was on a fly in fishing trip to a lake North of Flin Flon and he heard a noise one evening....now being that far north it was still very light out at 11 pm and he swears he saw a large thing walking on it's hind legs away from the water up into the brush.

The next day he went to the location and found a fish that was obviously being consumed by something.

I've known this guy my whole life and know he wouldn't make a story like this up.

It's had me curious ever since.

They won't show where they found it to 'protect the remaining ones'.

Yeah right... Look at the guys who supposedly found it. In the picture they look like they're shocked anyone actually believes them.

It's officially a hoax.........

ATLANTA - Turns out Bigfoot was just a rubber suit. Two researchers on a quest to prove the existence of Bigfoot say that the carcass encased in a block of ice handed over to them for an undisclosed sum by two men who claimed to have found it was slowly thawed out, and discovered to be a rubber gorilla outfit.

The revelation comes just days after a much ballyhooed news conference was held in California to proclaim that the remains of the creature were found in the North Georgia mountains was the legendary man-ape.
Steve Kulls, executive director of squatchdetective.com and host of Squatchdetective Radio, says in a posting on a Web site run by Bigfoot researcher Tom Biscardi that as the "evidence" was thawed, the claim began to unravel as a giant hoax.

First, the hair sample was burned and "melted into a ball uncharacteristic of hair," Kulls said in the posting.

The thawing process was sped up and the exposed head was found to be "unusually hollow in one small section." An hour of thawing later and the feet were exposed and they were found to be made of rubber.
