Thirty-two of the nation’s leading historians have sent letters to congressional leaders calling on them to stregthen the Presidential Records Act (http://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/laws/1978-act.html) (PRA). The effort, led by the Center for American Progress Action Fund and joined by the American Historical Association (http://www.historians.org/), the Organization of American Historians (http://www.oah.org/), and the National Coalition for History (http://historycoalition.org/), notes that while the PRA requires the administration to preserve presidential records, “it fails to provide an effective means of enforcing compliance with that requirement.”

Anyone think that since Nixon that any US POTUS leaves records behind that could be used against them?

I didn't think so.

Doesn't make it right.
