I had just seen that. I thought it was very hard hitting, which The View actually seems to be good at. Whoopi was a little obnoxious, though.

If you missed the part where she was about to faint from being so scared slavery was going to be repealed, then yeah, you missed part of it

And at the end....was anyone else a little uncomfortable with Barbara's little joke?

... not a good joke... The Whoopi thing though didn't bother me... I know you know her point (even though it was poorly made)...

MoFinz

I do...and it was a moot point, she only brought it up to try and validate her misguided belief McCain and Palin can overturn Roe v. Wade, which you and i both know is not possible.

And Barbara...damn woman, what were you thinking? Did you see whatherface next to Elizabeth Hasselback cringe?

misguided belief McCain and Palin can overturn Roe v. Wade, which you and i both know is not possible.

The Duo think they can. Someone should tell them too.

...yaeh, well, it also speaks to issues beyond Roe vs. Wade, which i agree will never be overturned... I am against abortion on demand... But it doesn't inform my voting decision because social programs lessen the incidence of abortion... It is kind of like tearing off your nose to spite your face... i just want to see the number of terminated pregnancies go down and if it bolsters education at the same time, than it is all the better....

But the joke? That was a terrible decision... it is something you could say with humor, among friends, in your livingroom... people who know your intentions.... but on TV? You don't know your audience and it cannot come off well when you say something like that...

MoFinz

I agree.....and while i am personally against abortion except in specific circumstances, i do not presume to be the sole arbitor of whats right and wrong. I support tons of info and alternatives and education as opposed to abortion as a convenience or a "buyers remorse" decision, which it too often is these days.

And Barbara...we all know she didn't mean it like it sounded, but damn, that sounded bad. Barbara will get a pass, because, well, she's Barbara. But if anyone else had made that joke, it would be seeya sucka

Can you provide proof of this allegation?

I'd love to see it if you can :err:

Well.... considering their political and moral convictions, i would think it is almost a given, wouldn't you?

No....i'd like to know where they have stated that as one of the goals of their campaign, if elected. I hear it a bunch from the opposition, but have yet to see any link to the endorsement of the idea from McCain or Palin.

I don't go around think Obama is going to be a Socialist because people say so either....I believe in the steak, not the sizzle

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Republican presidential candidate John McCain, looking to improve his standing with the party’s conservative voters, said Sunday the court decision that legalized abortion should be overturned.

“I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned,” the Arizona senator told about 800 people in South Carolina, one of the early voting states.

McCain also vowed that if elected, he would appoint judges who “strictly interpret the Constitution of the United States and do not legislate from the bench.”

I appreciate that...and he did state he was against it...but i did not see in that where he said he would go after Roe v. Wade and have it overturned. He used talking points to electrify the audience, but you and i both know he committed to nothing there.

Not surprising though...guess thats why he's a diplomat....

“I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned,”

Wouldn't you expect him to DO, or try to DO, the things he says he believes in?

He never said he was going to overturn it, just that he believes it should be. He's a freaking politician. He's going to tell the people what they want to hear, but unless he laid out verbatim what his plan is, then all he's doing is talking out his ace.
All of them do that...Obama, Biden, Palin......the truth is that's one sacred cow that aint being scarifdiced in our lifetime

In his earlier rallies when he said what kind of judges he'd appoint is where he alluded to answering the questions of roe vs wade..his appointments can do what he doesn't have to say..

Ok, getting to the real issue, why is it when I follow this link do I get Rick Astley singing something horrendous? Now I know where your political views come from Nate, if I listened to that stuff, I think that turns into a Olbermann watching obsession. Remember, starts with Astley, leads to Olbermann.
