Doug Kmiec is a conservative Reagan administration official and leading pro-life legal scholar. Despite his strong anti-abortion views, he recently endorsed Barack Obama on the grounds that Obama cared more about the full range of "life" issues - including poverty and human rights - and because Kmiec believes that Obama's "abortion reduction" agenda will have more impact on abortion in the short run than the traditional battles against Roe v. Wade.

The New Yorker recently covered extensively Kmiec's thoughts and the wider religious issues in this election

Well....I'm not surprised. I recently was told of what happened when one of our pastors was asked to be the god-father to his sisters kid. Only problem was that it was to be in a catholic church, and the priest who was to administer the ceremony was rude to our paster, yelled at him, told him that he was to shut the F up, and to get the f out.

Yes he used the F word, out loud and in front of all the people standing there, simply because he felt threatened by this pastor.

So nothing surprises me when it comes to the catholic church anymore - nothing.

I have never been to church. The more I hear about it, the weirder it sounds. I thought everyone went and danced like in the movies?
