BuffaloBillsMan
10-23-2008, 08:35 AM
BUST!

That's often what you hear from the dealer at your local casino when going over in a game of Blackjack.

That's also what Miami Dolphins rookie QB John Beck will be hearing for the next week or so in South Florida.

Wellómake that a month or so.

Maybe even to the end of the season.

Quite possibly forever if he doesn't turn into the next Dan Marino.

Frustrated, upset, and lost, Miami Dolphin fans took their frustration out on Beck with a sarcastic standing ovation after yet another overthrown pass Sunday afternoon, as the Dolphins were being blown out by their AFC East rival New York Jets, 40-13.

Not that the former BYU standout is responsible for the disaster known as the Miami Dolphins.

Passes were dropped left, right and center. Wide receivers Ted Ginn Jr. and Derek Hagan had trouble breaking open in the Jets' secondary. The blocking of the offensive line was offensive to say the least.

And on the other side of the ball, New York Jetsí sophomore QB Kellen Clemens burned the defense time and time again. RBs Leon Washington and Thomas Jones carved their way through the waning Dolphin defense.

With the way the Dolphins are playing right now, would anybody notice the difference between them and the collegiate Miami Hurricanes?

And the Hurricanes aren't exactly lighting up the NCAA by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah, it's gotten that bad in South Florida. If there was ever a time to say the teal and orange had hit rock bottom, now would be it.

It was bad enough to be the victim of a 42-7 first-half massacre at the hands of the immortal football machine known as the New England Patriots. Not to mention being slaughtered 37-20 by the surging Dallas Cowboys.

Did I forget to note that two former Miami Dolphins quarterbacks in Daunte Culpepper and A.J. Feeley also torched them?

Talk about rubbing salt in a wound.

Wasn't that the same Daunte Culpepper who was escorted out of the Miami Dolphins training facility by security during training camp?

Wasn't that the same A.J. Feeley who was thrown to the wolves by the Dolphins in a dismal 4-12 season back in 2004?

Too many questions, yet not enough answers.

With another setback at the hands of the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon, the question that everyone in America is dying to know is this: Can the Miami Dolphins win a game in the 2007 NFL season?

Whether or not Cam Cameron's squad has an answer to that looming question is beyond any football fan. With four challenging matchups to go, it looks to be almost certain that the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have some company.

The squad itself has been decimated by a handful of injuries.

The team's top two RBs in Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown are out with their respective season-ending injuries. Jesse Chatman, the third-string running back, is closer to hobbling then actually running on the gridiron.
Behind center, Trent Green was handed yet another concussion after Texans' defensive tackle Travis Johnson smashed Green's head open with his knee.

On the defensive side of the ball, standout safety Yeremiah Bell was sidelined with a year-ending injury on opening day in Washington. Veteran and Pro Bowl linebacker Zach Thomas has been struggling with his own concussion symptom and migraines.

And at this rate, he's not the only one suffering with a migraine.

However, it's not to say that the Fish aren't battling. In six of their 12 losses, Miami has lost by a total of three points or less.

The bottom line is the talent and player personnel simply aren't there. While the Dolphins are professionals and will continue to work hard until the end, losing every game of the year just isnít acceptable.

The Miami Dolphins will have decisions to make at seasonsí end when team owner Wayne Huizenga reviews the state of the franchise.

It looks almost inevitable that head coach Cam Cameron will be handed his pink slip at seasonsí end. Whoever decides to take on rebuilding the South Florida team will definitely have their hands full.

The state of reality has definitely been hard to swallow for defensive end Jason Taylor.

The reigning NFL Defensive MVP of the Year will have to decide where his plans lay in the near future. With constant losing seasons and a playoff drought that doesnít look as if it will be broken any time soon, Taylor will have to question the direction the franchise has taken. As Taylor turns 35 next year, the Dolphins could be looking to trade their defensive star in hopes for a brighter future.

The same can also be said for Taylorís brother-in-law Zach Thomas. Thomas has gradually seen the wear and tear on his body throughout the years, and may be looking for a change of scenery as well. Thereís no doubt in anybodyís mind that both Taylor and Thomas will be seeking championship rings at this stage of their careers.

As Bleacher Reportís own Samuel LeFavor has put it, the Miami Dolphins are heading up a creek without a paddle. Luckily for him, heís not the only one looking for some light at the end of the tunnel.

ahh the memories.... :sidelol:

Legal troubles  (Wikipedia)

Joey Porter-Levi Jones altercation

After five seasons as AFC North rivals, former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter and Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Levi Jones were involved in an altercation in a Las Vegas casino on March 18.

Arrest and release of Fred Evans

In the early morning of 2007-06-23, 23-year-old Dolphins defensive tackle Frederick Evans was arrested in Miami Beach. According to the police report, Evans was in a dispute with a taxi driver, and refused to leave the cab at the request of the officers called to the scene. Evans reportedly engaged in a physical struggle with the officers when they tried to handcuff him, with one officer being bitten on his left wrist. The officers then used tasers to subdue Evans. He was charged with battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing. Complicating matters could be the fact that Evans is already on probation in Colorado County, Texas for possession of marijuana.

In a team-released statement, Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron said: "We are aware that Fred Evans was arrested this morning. We will not condone this type of behavior. I assure everyone it will be dealt with seriously". Cameron made good on his word a few days later, as Evans was waived by the team on June 28.

Arrest and release of Kelly Campbell

Re-signed by the Dolphins in March after spending 2006 training camp with the team, wide receiver Kelly Campbell had his contract terminated on July 6[17]. It was not until July 24, however, that it was revealed that Campbell's release stemmed from an arrest on drug charges in Atlanta, Georgia on July 3[18]. Campbell was charged with felony possession of marijuana and Ecstasy and a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police officers[18]. It was Campbell's second arrest in Fulton County[18]. In 2005, Campbell was arrested and charged with marijuana possession and theft by receiving stolen property involving a handgun[18]. He reached a plea deal to avoid a trial[18].

[edit] Arrest of Chris Chambers

On the morning of Saturday, July 14, Pro Bowl wide receiver Chris Chambers was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina and charged with driving while impaired and speeding[19]. He was arrested around 2:30 a.m. and later released on $1,750 bond[19]. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Capt. Lisa Goelz, Chambers faced charges of driving while impaired, speeding and reckless driving[19]. On August 15, it was reported that a lawyer for Chambers said he would plead not guilty to driving while impaired[20]. Chambers was charged despite his blood-alcohol content being below the legal limit, although North Carolina law says he can still be convicted[20].

On September 25, it was reported that Chambers would enter a plea deal in which he would plead guilty to speeding. Under the terms of the plea deal, the chargers of driving while impaired and reckless driving were dismissed. He did not have to appear in court.

I wonder how many of these sites are you are signed up with? You've got two links to other sites as your signature, you signed on this site, & probably signed up with every team's website in the league. You guys are lifeless freaks. You live off of the success of your role models. If the bills win good for them, even you can witness how tough a win against a rebuilding team can be. If the fins win, that will just prove your more of a moron then you know, you can't help it, it's who you are. Given all this propaganda you've posted about how low of a team miami is, what status will the bills hold when they loose?

ALSO- Go walk across your one room apt. to your little refrigerator magnet of the bill's schedule and look at all your games you marked a "W" with. What team have you beaten thats even worth mentioning? San Diego 3-4 ? Miami gutted them!
Your bills have not beaten a team who are over .500! Seattle 1-5, NICE WIN!
Jac 3-3 NICE WIN! Oakland- 2-4 NICE WIN! Stl- 2-4 NICE WIN!

Just relax. Your all excited over nothing. it's not your fault , morons like you tend to believe everything presented directly in their face to be true, like your buffalo bills are a legit 5-1 team. LMAO enjoy the luck while it lasts, it's running out, and fast.

Talk about not supporting your team, wow. have you guys even sold a game out when there wasn't 1/2 opposing fans in there? Way to represent..NOT!

I would be embarrassed to call myself a Fish fan when you can't even fill up the lower bowl. The Ravens game, wow, orange seats everywhere.

What's this got to do with Dolphins fans that don't live in Florida?

Choking in 4 straight Super Bowls make you that confident? Miami is one of the best franchises in NFL history with a perfect season. The Bills best player was a murder and their biggest accomplishment losing 4 straight Super Bowls. Impressive

I'll try and find the link and article. It pretty much said that San Antonio wants a NFL team and that they might go after the Dolphins to get one. (Due to lagging ticket sales at the stadium).

Wow, one whole article? Where they MENTION it?

They're already planning the stadium in Toronto and how they are taking half the home games from you as soon as next year.

Be sure and hurry to look for that article about San Antonio though. That will never happen.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder put his beauty pageant queen-like knowledge on display (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/miamidolphins/entries/2007/10/24/crowder_discovers_he_wont_need.html?cxntfid=blogs_inside_the_dolphins) this week while commenting on the upcoming game between his ‘Fins and the New York Giants in London, England.
First, Crowder cannot identify London on a map. Second, he was surprised to learn that people actually speak English in uh, England. Whoa….culture shock.
“I couldn’t find London on a map if they didn’t have the names of the countries,” Crowder said. “I swear to God. I don’t know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that.”
Now I don’t know not nothing about whether or not Crowder was being facetious, but the hilarity continued by comparing a fellow NFL player to the land of the Union Jack.
“I know London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him. That’s the closest thing I know to London. He’s black, so I’m sure he’s not from London. I’m sure that’s a coincidental name.”
Crowder is right though, there are no black people in London. I lived there for 3 months and couldn’t find ANY weed. I had to smoke hash on the back of a bus with a ragga MC on the way to some music festival just to get a buzz. And the beer is warm there too. Now that I think about it, London kinda sucks.

She found it in her blog. The blogged quote was, "while its definate the Bills are moving to Toronto, what if there was an NFL team in San Antonio"... Somehow, with all the great brainpower Buffalonians have, she translated this into, "San Antonio is making a move to get the Dolphins".

Did Buffalo sell out their games back in the 70's when their team was demolished week in and week out? Or did they really start to sell out their stadium when they became competetive upon Kelly's, Smith's, etc's arrival? Just like every other team in every other sport, we will sell out tickets when we are consistantly competetive again. Nobody wants to spend money for what will be - in percentages, anyway - a disappointing day.

Not to mention, there is a little more to occupy one's time in Miami vs, say, Buffalo... There actually are other things to enjoy there, aside from building a snowman.

I live maybe 30 mins away from Buffalo and get all the local bills games. So in the last 2 years If I remember correctly you guys had 4 black out games. Only reason the Bills are selling out this year is beacuse your al scared that the team will move to Canada. I was at a Fins Bills game and stands where empty and it was about 70/30 bills to fins fans and your hear telling us why we can't sell out seats???? Where in Miami you have more to do then just watch the fins.

Jimi

Dude look at the location of everyone on this board, the Dolphins dont sell games because they have such a wide fan base OUTSIDE of Miami, the locals seem to be more fickle. If i remeber correctly you guys have had sell out problems too i believe, which sucks considering football is the only thing to do in that town.

You would be embarassed to call yourself a Fins fan? Barfalo (no need for spell check smart guy) is a dirty filthy city with nothing but corruption and a football team who never has and never will win a Superbowl. Keep thinking this overacheiving team this year wont fall off sooner then later.

Say all you want, but "Wide Right" shuts all of you losers up....well it should anyway.

Have fun in Canada mate. Atleast Miami will still have a stadium to not sell out in a couple years unlike Barfalo.
